The breaks may be shorter, but CC is now trying to sell :30 second ads instead of :60's. You may take 12 minutes an hour instead of 14, but when you sell more :30's, the number of commercials is actually greater than before. Plus, the going rate for a :30 is 75% of a :60, and by sheer volume alone, Lowry's not taking that big of a hit.

What does anyone on here have against Lowry Mays? So what if he is a little quirky on where he sits or his water temp.? The guy has had a succesful career and made a lot of money and desreves to call his own shots. He has done a great deal for A&M, and in monetary terms, probably more than all the posters on here put together.

I fail to see how he is an embarrasment.

:30's are NOT 75% of a :60

:60 second spots are not effective. they run on and on and the listener loses attnetion.

an independent research study was dine by Burke, a leading market research company. they found that recall of spots was much higher in :15's and :30's than :60's and for half the cost. so why not pay half of a :60 and get a better recall?

email me if you want the results. I will be happy to forward them to you.

bknet, actually 95% of people on this board have hung with athletes at one time or another and most would consider it a "non-event." that's why its gay and imo, its a cry for help.

HT...

I have hung out with several athletes having been working in sports my entire wroking career. it is far from a cry for help. I am not an Aggie so I have no idea of half of the names on this thread. I am happy to have hung out with those that I did. Gald you are such a stud that hangs out with name athletes all the time and it is nothing for you. (gives a thumbs up)

and I named 2 athletes out of 5 people. so the Gov must be gay too.

I never said they were better than anyone. they throw their drawls on the same way as me.

the question asked who are the 5 Aggies you would want to hang out with.

well I don't know many famous Aggies or heros who have fought in wars that are Ags so i listed 5 people I have hung out with. I didn't glam the athletes over the others.

if you want to say that professional athletes are just like the rest...then I can make an argument that the president is just a man that puts his pants on one leg at a time too.

Pro athletes have a gift that you or I do not have. in fact they have a gift that less than one half of one percent of the US population has. So that makes them a little more special than you or I. Same with a nobel prize winning chemist.

so you can get off my jock now HT.

I don't think that's Steve Steagent, I think it's Larry Stegent.

Took a class with him. He was absolutely out of control most days.

My List Ed hargett, Butch Baldridge, John David Crow, Gene Stallings, and Dutch Ohlendorf. Jarrin' John would be on the list if there were six allowed.

Earl Rudder
Sul Ross
Shelby Metcalf

*Call me crazy Coach Fran (I would really like to ask him in a private situation what the hell he thought went wrong during his tenure at A&M)

In reality I would change Fran with Dana Bible.

Of course Charles "Smokey" Harper always sounded like a hell of a character also (Trainer in the Junction Boys.)
