Pretty crazy how this played out... although I'd be careful about sending this to espn or others. If you tell on them and they get in more trouble, chances are they're going to do everything they can to try to find something wrong with our program. No program is completely clean.

Has anyone mentioned that paying a walk-on for work not performed is also a violation? If it weren't, nobody would have to offer scholarships. They would just get boosters to pay walk-ons. You could have as many players as you want on the payroll and pay them more than what a scholarship is worth.

I have searched to see if Aggiegrant asked for an apology online, and I cannot find it.

The thread on AO said aggiegrant asked the mods for an apology.

My bet is, if the GF is at all involved, he was told to keep his mouth shut for legal reasons. If there were to be sanctions were money was lost, odds are he could be brought in as liable, or even sued by the school or players for slander and lible?

I had the same setup going... why can't non-sport people get this deal? I just walked up to my boss and told him I wanted the Jackie Sherril deal.

Some attorney types will have to back me up here, but I dont think libel refers to posting something told to you by someone else and slander is, of course, someone speaking about you...that really doesn't apply since he put this in writing. That said, from my understanding both slander and libel have to stand up to the test of being unfair in the light in which they cast the plaintiff...can't be unfair when its already been proven true.

If I tell the cops you're selling crack and they arrest you for it, you have no claim against me.

Key defense to libel/slander - If what you said was true, you haven't libeled or slandered anyone.

Forget the AgTag. There should be an AggieGrant tag on texags to symbolize badazz status.
