WOW these guys at Big Red were sooooooo stupid as to use actual payroll they are open to federal criminal charges for deducting these guys payments on the dealerships tax returns when they actually did no work. FED TIME in the BIG HOUSE for someone for Tax Fraud. All this on top of getting your university in hot water with the NCAA that's GGGGREAT!

Does anyone think the rivalry between us and OU will start to become more heated? It's always been friendly on the surface, with some respect mixed in with hate.

If an Aggie helps bring down the OU machine, I don't see how it can't be taken up a notch.

I'm in on this!

I can't give the guys that ripped him too much flak, I would have dismissed him as a troll as well. But, it is awesome that this turned out to be true. Funny stuff.

How would that be tax fraud? It appears the dealership paid their payroll taxes and that Bomar reported the income. Does the government care how much work you do to earn your paycheck?

I don't see how the dealership broke any federal laws. You as an employer are allowed to pay your employees however much you want, as long as you report it to the IRS.

Wasn't key piece of evidence OU finding out that Bomar reported $18,000 in income for his taxes?

My first time to post on TexAgs, but a longtime admirer. Thought I'd make my debut on what has become a truly historical thread.

BTW, great job AggieGrant06 for starting something that at the very least has been a source of entertainment. However, I doubt that the folks north of the Red River are very amused at the moment. I'll be shocked if Sportscenter does not jump on this at some point.

They're either INCREDIBLY arrogant or INCREDIBLY stupid. Most likely both.

I recall reading this back then. This week I was scratching my head thinking I'd heard about the payroll scandal before but convinced myself I was thinking about Peterson's extended $0 trial lease.

I am a bit slow on this, so please explain. If the dealership paid payroll taxes on their wages and the players filed tax returns(as I understand they did), then why would the Feds care? The IRS just wants a piece of every transaction, and it looks like they got it.

If they pressed charges every time someone collected paycheck for work not done then half of the general board would be in the clink.

How is this a criminal matter? (As if the NCAA violations were not enough.)

Will this post change some of the arrogant replies "outside" information sometimes brings on this board?

Probably not. But a few out there might slow down on the draw.

I live in OKC. Good times on the news here.
