Thank you for all your hard work and dedication Dr. Gates! I graduated before you became the president, but I am excited by and proud of the direction you have taken our great university in over the past several years.

Before you leave A&M, is there any chance at all that you could ask the chemical engineering department's faculty search committee to consider the faculty application of a certain former student (class of 2000) who is now currently a post-doc at North Carolina State, for an assistant prof. position beginning in the Spring 2007 semester? -- I've been told that their junior hiring is being put on hold until after they get a new department head, but I won't be able to wait that long.
