Would love for Dr. Gates to return, if he is not too old now. I forget his age. Probably mid seventies or so.

Dr. Gates does not want another run at President of A&M at 70 years of age. Once was enough.

Would still love to see him return in some capacity.
Wish he would continue posting on Texags.com
Come back - Ranger65 !!!

It would be hard to get a legitimate candidate for the President here. Rick Perry's cronies run the A&M system now...

I had a book signed today. During the fast paced "no personalization, no photos" signing he did, I simply said "Thank you for your service Ranger 65" He paused and looked up at me with a smile and went back to signing books for hundreds.
Sure am proud that Aggieland made its mark on the man. What a tremendous honor to have he and 41 back in Rudder today.

quote:
I had become president of Texas A&M University in August 2002, and by October 2006 I was well into my fifth year. I was very happy there, and many—but not all—Aggies believed I was making significant improvements in nearly all aspects of the university (except football). I had originally committed to staying five years but agreed to extend that to seven years—summer 2009. Then my wife, Becky, and I would finally return to our home in the Pacific Northwest.
Good man.

Would love to see Ranger65 post some more.
Wonder if he follows our Basketball program ??
Dr. Gates would know what was right to do. IMO

Yes, I would guess that he continues to follow Texags.com. Sure would like to see him post here again.
Bet he was excited to see the Aggies with the Heisman Trophy winner.

He still has varsity stars so I assume he logs on occasionally. I just realized I can PM him, I'm doing that ****

I wish he would do another book signing in CS. It would be cool to have him sign my graduation picture too.

I remember that morning well
