If ever there was a recent season to take the 10 point hit it's this one.

Unbelievable decision. EPL could go f themselves if they weren't too busy blowing the big 6.

Blowing the Big 2. You gotta have oil money to get love in this league

I mean, the infraction was missing the 105MM threshold by less than 20MM… 10-point loss? That's so punitive and unbelievably stupid.

Beyond stupid.

On the plus side, we're actually playing really well right now, I hope this fires them up to go rack up some points so that it doesn't even matter.

We played well today - I can't help but get pissed when I look at the table and see a 6 win team fighting out of the relegation zone when we should be in 10th. A shame and a sham. Screw the PL.

but also, a few week after that bull**** and we're out of the relegation zone. **** you, EPL. UTFT.

one goal for each middle finger raised at those ****s. UTFT.

Points deduction was to keep us out of Europe, not to relegate us.

I'm hoping the appeal gets some added back but I have very little faith in the PL to do the right thing.

The right thing to do would be to reduce that to 0 points. An at least outwardly not-corrupt thing to do would be to drop it to a point or two, especially since precedent says don't dock points if it will punish the fans and filing for bankruptcy during the season means you lose 9 points.

But the EPL has to keep its monied overlords pleased and stomp on anyone with any aspirations whatsoever.

Right.. the charges in my opinion are not worthy of the "biggest sporting sanction in PL history".

But either way SCREW THEM cause we knocked off Chelsea this morning and are 4 points clear. (We'd be 10th with no deduction.)

Great chance to get some space v Burnley next week.

Sounds like we may eat another 9 point deduction for potentially going in administration? Are we seriously unable to pay our bills? Idk whose cheerios Everton pissed in but if they see 19 points worth of deductions in one season, that is probably relegation.

No. The author of the article that made that insinuation is a dyed-in-the-wool Everton hater and had exactly zero quotes or sources for that claptrap.

I saw a number of articles stating the same though. Because the takeover entity loaned us $100MM and have given the PL a deadline to approve the takeover before they just clean their hands of it. Is that not right?

Who knows. And there's no real way of knowing what the deal looks like.

Think about it a little differently: 777 apparently loaned Everton 100 million. They're just going to walk and let the club go into bankruptcy? (FYI here, I am a business bankruptcy lawyer). Seems monumentally stupid unless they have some guaranty of payment or excellent collateral. From a business and legal position, that theory makes zero sense.

Since there isn't a single quote or statement from anyone that actually knows what is going on, my take is that this is just butthurt Everton haters and the league upset that we're in excellent form and the BS 10 point deduction is already irrelevant to our survival.

So did Burnley get marked "safe" from A4 sized cards in the hands of away supporters?

Now is the time to amplify the pressure re the BS points deduction. They're going to try to say our current form negated the punishment but now the name of their knob gobbler game is to keep us out of Europe.

Is there really any chance we win that appeal lol?

Yeah that was absurd.. they kept showing an angle to the ref that made it look like he stepped on his foot but I don't believe he really did.

Need to turn the recent run of form around quick.. barely outside of relegation zone again.

Well earned point and I'll take it.

Word on the street is that the appeal hearing went swimmingly well for Everton. Expect to get points back and be levied a fine.

Love it - no way the prem could pass the red face test giving a harsher penalty than when a team literally went bankrupt. While blatantly ignoring the Newcastle, man city, etc spending more than everyone.

Announcers said that Grealish cost more alone than our entire starting 11, and he is on the bench. But sure.. Everton should be the team with the 10pt deduction.

Relative marginal EPL minnows man city manage a 2-0 stunner against a side that is so notoriously over-spending that the league had to dock them 10 points. Full story at 11.

Good to get a point - probably deserved 3. Now we need the prem to give us our points back.
