Figured we'd get a thread up to talk about any of the NCAA Tournament games not relevant to the Aggies.

We've got a corner of the bracket playing today for BYU reasons...

The first round of 32 games only saw two upsets.
Tennessee beat 4 seed Xavier 1-0
UC Irvine beat 1 seeded UCLA 1-0
These were both great for Nebraska as they were in the same group and now Nebraska gets to host second and third round games as a 5 seed. They have to face Tennessee in the second round which should be a good matchup.

SEC went 7-1 in the first round.

LSU was the only SEC team not to advance to the 2nd round.

Wisconsin scores late in 1st half against the tsips. We play the winner of that game.
While I'm writing this they score again... aww taken off the board for offsides.
Hope it doesn't come down to it but it is a very controversial call on the offsides. No offside player touched the ball or was even within a yard or two of it and was not blocking the keeper. The girl called offside wasn't even really looking. Was a straight shot into the net from a free kick from just outside the corner of the penalty area.

I think if enough players raise their arms and look at the sideline ref they have to disallow it. Did any of the Wisconsin players keep playing D?

Nebraska's first goal came when the UT keeper slipped when taking a goal kick and the ball went right to a Husker playing up.

Wow. It is hard to put my reaction into words.

And now Nebraska will host unseeded UC-Irvine with the winner going to the Elite 8.

That is one of the most ridiculous goals I've ever seen given up by a GK.

Any SEC teams left?

No SEC teams left but 4 ACC teams in the Elite 8. FSU plays Pitt so it won't be an all-ACC College Cup.

ncaa.com website says Memphis beat Pitt 3-0. Makes you wonder it anyone at the NCAA knows what they are doing.

Getting caught up watching some of the tourney games. Arkansas losing to Pitt 4-3 at home when they lead with 12 minutes left was absolutely shocking. It also snapped their 32 game home unbeaten streak. Arky GK was really bad on a few of those goals given up. Will be interesting to see how they respond next season with most of their stars now gone from all those titles the last 4-5 years.

The SEC had a poor showing in the tourney.

FSU scored 3 goals on Pitt in a 6 minute, 5 second span of the second half. 2 were PKs. Nebraska took Stanford to OT scoring with 3 minutes to go in regulation. Snowing in Provo.
