Picking up this year where they left off last year. Getting Mike Matheny his major league debut win as manager. Kyle Loshe looking good as the opening day starter and the WS MVP getting it done again. Also, as a little sidenote I think we only need 9 more stolen bases after tonight to match last year's total!

That was a very enjoyable game to watch. I did not expect us to hit Josh the way we did out of the chute and I certainly didn't expect Lohse to look amazing.

and lol at the Marlin's stadium dimensions as it probably cost them a win last night.

Great start! Glad to see Beltran get one tonight. I'm hoping he feels the STL magic like Berkman did last year and returns to his former glory.

Yeah i expect Beltran to have a big year. He looks healthy. And wow Molina looks like he is in the shape of his life. He is actually running out ground balls.

Pujols should have a monster year. He feels like he has everything to prove again.

Wow, guess Furcal really wants to keep the lead-off job. Beltran and Lynn were no slouches either.

Wow. We look really, really good right now.

Every inning was a battle," said Brewers starter Randy Wolf (0-1). "They have a good, balanced lineup. They really do, especially right now. I really hope they are peaking now because they look really good."

Kyle Loshe looking good again. Beltran and Freese both with their 3rd HRs. 5-1

Pretty amazing start considering we just win back to back series on the road versus the two best teams in our division.

Berkman sits today with a strained calf he got last night legging out a triple.

As much as I'm tempted to look for them myself, I always refrain. So, in short, I don't.

Another series win - off to a great start offensively especially.

I'll be surprised if they keep that up but the Cards do have talent and no one can argue that.

Sweet win tonight as the kid comes through again. Hitting .409 with 11 RBI.

That kid is a menace; the way he is playing he'll either take Berkman or Freese's job. (Aint he a TCU grad?)

Kyle Loshe was brilliant again, too bad Motte and the defense gave up his win.
PJYoung

Right before the hit to tie it by the Reds, a HR to go ahead was maybe 3 feet foul.
PJYoung

And that was Boggs, not Motte, if I remember correctly.

Ah yea good call...I forgot, facial hair threw me off! I can't stand Boggs facial hair....Not to fond of his game yet either.

Berkman possibly to dl because of calf. Carpenter took over for him tonight.

Cardinals center fielder Jon Jay left after the seventh with a sprained right shoulder, likely from bumping into the wall trying to snare Stubbs' homer. Earlier Thursday, general manager John Mozeliak said first baseman Lance Berkman would be placed on the 15-day disabled list with a left calf injury and that utilityman Skip Schumaker would be activated from the 15-day disabled list from a pulled right side muscle sustained in spring training.
"If you can't run, you can't play," Berkman said after the game. "It's not really that tough of a decision."
Jay said X-rays showed no significant damage and said he was day to day.

Ugh Jay ran right into the wall. His arm was in a sling last night.

And.... Skip runs into CF wall on 2nd pitch and is taken out of the game.

Wasnt aware Skip was a kamikaze outfielder.

Cardinals center fielder Jon Jay is returning to St. Louis this afternoon in order to have his problematic right shoulder examined. The club decided to have Jay leave the team after he experienced renewed discomfort in the shoulder while taking morning batting practice.

The Cardinals on Sunday became the first defending world champion since the 1922 New York Giants to open their title defense by capturing six consecutive series when they took down the Pittsburgh Pirates for a 5-1 win at PNC Park.

Doing it without Pujols(trade), Carp(DL) and Wainwright(not right yet after TJS).

Love me some Kyle Loshe
