Why not? The D-Backs are solid. They are super young and were way ahead of schedule last year. They have a legit ace and a bunch of young pitchers who are highly rated and now Monty. Their lineup with Marte-Carroll-Moreno-Walker-Gurriel-Thomas-Rivera is really good. They signed some experienced vets in Pederson and Grichuk this offseason. They still have Sewald from their trade with the Mariners. Mantiply was an All Star 2 years ago but was actually bad last year. Imagine if he has a bullpen bounce back._lefraud_ said:
Monty might be pitching in the playoffs this season, but it won't be for the Dbacks
They are set for this year and a long time.
Edit: Also Carroll, Moreno, and Thomas were all born in a year that starts with a 2 lol.
SIAP.
The final out.

Yes, lots of teams are doing it. Yes, it's part of modern baseball. Yes, the Rangers' patch looks better than some others.Mr Gigem said:
Wow some of y'all are really overreacting to the jersey patch. Allow me to direct to other teams with a jersey patch.

Still think it sucks in principle. JMO
It's a big ass patch that probably comes with a big-ass sponsorship check. At least the colors match. I have a way bigger issue with the ass cheek quality of uniforms that they are getting now, and the complete lack of professionalism associated with it. Very Bush League imo.DannyDuberstein said:

So we have this patch to thank for a possible 5th starter for the first half the season and primarily long reliever? Thanks Energy Transfer!Proposition Joe said:
It's jersey advertising. It looks like ***** But if it helps sign free agents then I'll deal.

Sponsors start sponsoring specific players... So when a player sucks, we all stop buying Penzoil Motor Oil.
It's about time the pros started getting in on this NIL action.Proposition Joe said:shack009 said:So we have this patch to thank for a possible 5th starter for the first half the season and primarily long reliever? Thanks Energy Transfer!Proposition Joe said:

Forget free agents…help me watch the games on tv again.
Could have been worse. How much longer until we are European soccer where the entire front of the jersey is a sponsor and the team is just a small patch?agent-maroon said:
Pretty sure I'm in the minority on this, but I don't think the patch looks all that bad TBH. I get the whole baseball tradition & "purity" aspect of it, but this is a league wide thing now. It's actually subdued and blends in with the overall uniform much better than it might have with a different design.

I hate them regardless, but yes it could certainly have been worse.
