We are working through our taxes this week, and one area we are stuck at is the capital gains tax on the sale of a home. Over the last 5 years we lived in the home for two of them so we should still received the capital gains exclusion from the sale of the home though for we are a bit unsure how to do this through a TurboTax software. Should we take this to a CPA or is this something easy to solve?

Turbotax asks all the questions necessary to confirm exclusion

If you can exclude all the gains and you didn't receive a 1099-S you don't need to report anything.
