As I mentioned earlier, Rory would join Jack and Tiger as the only players to win 3 legs of the career grand slam by age 25 with a win this weekend. I don't think he'll win 18, but he'll win a bunch.

Pretty mild ... No cray conditions.

Loved the announcer's comment after Rory's 230 yard 5 iron to the green to set up eagle on 18 ....."now he's just showing off!"

Sorry to stir the pot and step away.
Rory could be a great player. Awesome right now when his swing is right.
BUT, for me, there are four elite players ever - Harry Vardon, Ben Hogan, Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods. When you are determining GOAT, it's splitting hairs but not case could be made for someone other than those four.
Wouldn't Bobby Jones be considered elite? Or are we merely discussing professional players?

You can definitely start talking about Jack's record if McIlroy wins 8 by the time he turns 30. If he wins tomorrow he'll almost be halfway there.
But I don't think he has the focus and mental tenacity to win over 10 majors. Only Jack and Tiger had that and Rory is aloof compared to them. If that changes he will challenge Jack because without a doubt he has the talent. In his major wins he destroyed the field similar to some of Tiger's majors. He's on track to do the same tomorrow, but who knows he could blow up or leak oil like he has in the past.
Rory's swing looks like it did two years ago when he was the best in the world. He seems to have gotten rid of that hitch or whatever it was in his takeaway and now his swing is pure with almost no unnecessary movement. It's something to behold.

Eldrick be double bogeying his ass around the course on the Sunday front nine.
I'm sure "the D" still thinks he can win.

Rickie is one of my favorites out of the young guns.
I understand the reason for all orange on Sundays with the oversize orange Puma cap.
Am I the only one who thinks the cursive script flat brimmed Puma cap is off? Very close to an Elmer Fudd stunt double?

The only way this is going to be a good day of golf is if Fowler goes nuts and shoots a 63 or something. I'd like to see this become competitive but I don't want to see McIlroy choke.

Rory is playing really aggressively for having this big of a lead.
Wonder who blinks first...him or Rickie.

I really like the way they're doing the drop zones. Always thought it was crappy that hitting it into the bleachers meant you got a great lie.

I don't want to see McIlroy give it away but I'm pulling for Fowler.
And in general I like Sergio. He is a whiner but I like that he kinda owns being a head case.

Rory has a history of blowing away fields (2011 US Open and 2012 PGA), but he's also been known to give away leads. Obviously the 2011 Masters is the most notable, but he struggled badly with a big lead down the stretch at the Honda this year and lost the tournament.

I'd like to see Rory hang on, but Sergio has been one of the best euro's for a long time and a lethal Ryder cup player, so if anyone is going to catch Rory, it might as well be him.

Rory is one of the best long iron players I've ever seen. When he's on like he is right now, he's the best in the game IMO.
