Been getting into reading a lot about the Rhodesian Selous Scouts lately, does anyone have any interest in them and/or know anything about them?

A little. I need to read "3 Sips of Gin" by Tim Bax and his time in the Selous Scouts. Been sitting in my bookshelf for over a year.
And I wish I could fight a war in short shorts, tshirts and black Chucks.

Have you happened to read "Selous Scouts: Top Secret War" ?
I've heard it's a banned book because of how in detail it goes into the cruelness of their actions. Found a good deal on it but still pretty expensive for a book, looking to see if it's worth it.

I did some reading years ago on them. I was trained by one of their trackers back in 06. Awesome guy and scary good at his job. I remember think how such a body of men could never really be fielded in todays age and political climate for a first world nation.

Not Selous Scouts but about the Rhodesian SAS, A Handful of Hard Men by Hannes Wessels. This is an excellent book. One of my all time favorite reads. Highly recommend.

I had a multi-hour conversation with a former scout at a deer camp a few years ago.
Fascinating story. As with most wars, lots of brutality in both sides - worse by the communist backed tribes, but the winners write the history - and in the Apartheid era there was no sympathy for the euro Rhodesians.
The sad coda was after they won, Mugabe mass murdered his erstwhile allies to consolidate power:
