How was the Hell's Cellar?

It was pretty good, a little more sour than I prefer but not too acetic. Body was very thin which happens with aged beers with multiple bugs. It was totally flat which was a bummer. I was glad I got it but wouldn't buy another.La Fours said:

I tried some 903 beers several years back. I did not like any of them at all. I talked to the rep from Green Light a couple month sago and she said they have recently hired a new head brewer and the beers were good. I will give them another try.La Fours said:
I think this is my first 903 beer. Pretty good beer. Excellent can art.

I was kind of worried about it because the cap was set with too much pressure. You can tell because it was dented in the middle. This (imho) causes it to spring back and let gas escape. I have had the same problem with my home brews in the past. You could tell that there was plenty of fermentation to bottle condition. The underside of the cap as well as the neck of the bottle had kreuzen residue. The cap just let the CO2 escape.La Fours said:
Iirc, the carb on that beer was bad when it was released.

903 beers that I have had are generally of the dessert variety. Lots of brownie peppermint mocha stouts kinda thing.
Think I liked one along the way but most of them just were a bit sweet for my taste.

More hotel drinking while wife is in the other room (just like last time, it's a suite) winding down to get ready for her marathon that starts at 5:30. In Newport Beach this time so grabbed something localish that I've never seen before.
Went by Green Cheek Brewing for lunch and had "This Page Intentionally Left Blank"

Checked out the TABC Label Approval search a little while ago. This is going to be a must get.

Maybe not the best but possibly the coldest.

I hate posting a picture of just a pint, because it could be anything, but this one is a Pliny for President. Really good change of pace. A little smoother and more rounded off than the crispness of the original. Had a couple.

Melvin has made it to College Station. This is really good. I have only ever had their IPA, which I am a big fan of.

Is that a matte finish outlet? Are the specks I see on it factory-made or aftermarket?

True Vine has really stepped up their game in the last few years. Pretty solid beers across the board. This is "Everyday Balloons " top and "Super SMaSH Bros (Idaho 7)".

Stopped in at coaltrain tonight and did a little shopping. Left the anchorage bottles on the shelf to live another day. Heady is a week old

And then stopped in to sevens gate tap room which is ostensibly the new brewers republic in town but still not quite as good.
On another note the bartender was telling me that Weldwerks had started to build out a taproom down here in old Colorado city and got like 90% done and then pulled out, any insight NColoradoAg? That would've been bad ass, but probably better that y'all aren't coming down here on my wallet and marriage. Supposedly WestFax is going to move into the spot now and is supposed to open soon.
I'm still holding out hope that Troy Casey decides to open a spot down here like he was telling me when I stopped in at Glenwood last summer.
Honestly any 1/2 way decent brewery opening down here will instantly be the #1 outfit in town. We have so many breweries but they're all pretty much dog*****
It is nice having like 4 or 5 Weldwerks taps at the O Club on Peterson, one of the last really solid O-Clubs at least in the USSF DoD list of bases. I do my part pretty much every Friday afternoon at work to keep the Weldwerks IPA kegs fresh.

Omnegang Three Philosophers Belgian Quad in a Nitro can. I've always been a fan of Three Philosophers but to be honest the nitro effect on this was pretty weak.
…. And the splotches on the wall plate (as well as the wall) are custom.

Just grabbed a can of something at HEB on Saturday without thinking too much.
Last time I do that again. Holy moly this was TOUGH to finish. Maybe I'm just not a passionfruit guy but if left a BAD taste in my mouth. Sticking with the Shiner staples and doing a little more research before I branch out from now on.

Shiner's always unlikely to be better than average, but they've definitely had some big swings and misses. The chocolate cake beer and Smokehaus come to mind. Also the Peppermint Brewers Pride. That thing tasted like toothpaste.
