I'm usually a once every couple months type cigar smoker. Getting ready to spend a few days by the river and suspect i'll be a 1-2 a day smoker with all the in-laws being there. What would yall recommend as a mild but tasty cigar that wont destroy my taste buds after its all said and done?

Any of y'all ever smoked a LaGloria Cubana Churchill Maduro? A friend gave me a few of these for Christmas. They have been in my humidor since then. When I smoke a cigar it is usually a Padron. But was thinking of smoking one of these tomorrow. Some reviews from y'all would be appreciated. Thanks.

I did. It was really good. He went over all the work that goes into them, and was very educational.

Ah yes, the Hamlet Cuban guy, forgot his name. He was up here about 8 months ago in New Hampshire. He publicly ridiculed me for how I lit my cigar.

So how did you light it and what did he want you to do.

I had picked up a habit from watching others at my local place up here of holding the torch parallel with the end of the cigar with the flame pointing toward the foot. Really I should clarify that I was doing that just when I was toasting it, I didn't light it that way.

He showed us to hold the torch with the flame perpendicular to the end of the cigar, and also showed us how long the flame really is on a torch. So you should hold it lower than most people tend to do as you toast it and light it.
