G.R. Hinsley - Paris Junior College

Howdy, Ags. Normally I just visit the zoo but I follow Region XIV (JuCo) Baseball and I thought I'd share since it's relevant...

Hinsley committed to the Ags a few weeks ago. He's a right-handed first baseman who 'could' play 2B with some polishing, I'm not sure where the Ags see him but I can't imagine him not being in the lineup.

Was 2nd in conf last year in BA and 1st in several other categories. Blew everyone away in OBP (Barely finished below .500)

Legit hitter, new bats separate him from the pack as he does things the right way. Hits the ball all over the field, amazing plate discipline. In short, I don't know much about the Aggie Depth Chart but I can't imagine him not being one of the toughest outs in the lineup next year if not the entire SEC.

I expect this thread to get bumped next year around this time... Great get.

Great info. It's nice to see Scott Jones on that list. He is an A&M Consolidated kid. Also, where did you find those stats? I would like to see the Region with Hill College in it to see how Andrew Brown from Consol is doing. To say the Hill College website is lacking is an understatement.

Thanks for sharing...look forwards to seeing him in maroon.

He's got Mikey numbers with power...if I recall right, Mikey hit about .500 in JC ball before coming over.

I have B&C. It appears that Hill College stats are incomplete on that site, too.

I got a buddy who coaches college ball and he raves about his kid.

Says he's the real deal. Great pure hitter.

A guy with that kind of strike out to walk ratio in JC (not to mention the other stats), does not just forget how to hit. He's either showing some big stage anxiety or RC has some explaining to do (or both).

This is the young man that I have been asking about for weeks. Last night after I asked again, said they had heard that he hadn't done well in practice. WHAT the he** ! We have him riding the pine??? Something is rotten in Denmark! He led the Brazos Valley in RBI's. Something ain't adding up. Glad this topic was pulled back up.

I think losing Sawyers hurt us more than folks know. That guy is a top notch baseball coach. He's going to make one hell of a HC one day.

To be fair he only hit one home run for every 1.5 strikeouts!
