In reply to you moran They started their season well. Took their opening weekend against Okie State and looked good going into conference play but have not played well for about a month now. Texas St. is also having a disappointing season.

If USCe hangs on that would be 2 SEC series in a row Kentucky has lost.

And they still have Arky, Florida, and Vandy to end the season.

Kentucky could very easily end the season losing 4 out of the last 5 SEC series.

Barring winning 7 of 9, LSU is going to have win the auto bid at Hoover

I think they would be firmly safe with 7 (really tall order…) but 6 might be just enough. Not safe but very bubblish.

Very possible, but others are conspiring to help them. Wake losing to a dreadful Notre Dame, Vandy losing, Duke losing, Oregon State RPI dropping even with wins...

13-17 usually requires a stellar RPI. I don't know if 13 wins get them the requisite RPI (probably in the 20's).

In reply to RED AG 98 I think 6 is enough. With the teams on their schedule their RPI will move upward from the current 35. They'll be 13-17 with a top 30 and will be winners of 10 of their last 15.

Their 3 opponents will have RPIs of #1, #17, #23 as of today. If they win 6 of 9 there they'll see a nice bump.

Ole Miss is at 7-14 and 10 points higher in the RPI. They better not finish behind the Rebels is they want the last at large spot.

In reply to twk They play each other that final week of conference play. Should be big for one of them. Devastating for the other.

It will be interesting and critical to see what LSUs ending RPI will be. 14 is in. 13 is bubblish. 12 is unchartered territory. With that said, I honestly expect them to get the nod if they are anywhere near bubble territory. Theoretically, it shouldn't matter but I do believe any defending national champion will get the benefit of the doubt so long as they're in the neighborhood.

I still think they get in but they better get to 13 wins and time is running out. Today was a nail in the coffin.

Oklahoma batting back in the rubber match. Sips were up 6-1 in bottom of 3rd and OU scored 4 with 2 outs to cut it to 6-5. Still lots of baseball left.
