With the comeback road win to take the series at Vandy today, State is 12-9 and a game up on both Vandy and SCe. They are 3 back of A&M in the West and 5th best in the SEC as a whole.

Do they play any of UT, UK, or Arky down the stretch?

Sure looks like they have played their way into a host spot if the season ended today.

Looks like they have a mid-week (non-con) game against Ole Miss, then Alabama, Arkansas in Fayetteville and Mizzou.

there have been a few regional pairings sending the rajun cajuns (Lafayette) to College Station

but a Starkville regional would give the committee another 'bus' option for ULaLa

They have an attrocious non-conference record, thus the 28 RPI. I don't know that finishing well back of the top 4 in the SEC will be enough to get a host spot with an RPI in the 20s. Maybe they will make up enough ground to get in the discussion, but they've got a long way to go. Bama having a good RPI might help State, because it might look strange to give Bama a regional if they finish behind State.

state is teetering on being a quad 1 win. also, texas just moved into the top 60 so add another (for now).
