Breakdown: Roots of A&M's run defense failures

By John Harris
November 21, 2014

For the first two-and-a-half quarters or so against Missouri, I really thought the Texas A&M defense was standing tough against an offense with some explosive potential. Then, three run plays in the third quarter ultimately sent the Aggies to a 34-27 grave.

What happened?

Glad you asked.

Play No. 1

  • 1st and 10
  • +49 yard line
  • 9:18 left in 3rd quarter
The Tigers had just gotten a first down on a throw from Maty Mauk to Jimmy Hunt on a key third down.
