Texas A&M 38, Arizona State 17: Defense in review

By Billy Liucci
September 8, 2015

They said it throughout the entire offseason but no one was willing to listen.

All summer long, the buzz coming out of the Bright Complex was that the 2015 Aggie defense — in year one under John Chavis — would be a good one. Not good as in 'good compared to the awful product A&M put on the field last year' but good as in legitimately good (or better) by any standard, even in relation to the rest of the mighty SEC West.

Kevin Sumlin wasn't afraid to say it, the Aggie offensive linemen said it repeatedly at SEC Media days and the man they call 'Chief' certainly didn't shy away from telling us anytime he sat down with the media.

Again, no one was willing to listen.
