A&M's coaching search reached ludicrous levels of weirdness on Saturday night, and it seems that more twists could be on the horizon. In this edition of the Loochador Podcast, Billy Liucci and David Nuño provide an update on where the search stands as of Sunday morning.

He's looking like he may have had a rough night.

The UF example is the same scenario we are trudging thru and will continue to do so as finding that hire that fits and can get us out of the doldrums is beyond difficult to accomplish.

Thanks for the look see into last night. I noted on Friday that spending $77 million to get Stoops was a failure of planning and strategy. Your discussion today confirmed that.

Time for the school to get its act together and play like a team not like individuals. Whoever is going to make the final decision needs to be publicly identified and own the accountability for it. Don't care who it is.

Sounds like it's going to be Elko

Thanks for the update.
I was in on the craziness last night till about 1:30 and gave it up. It was very interesting though.
I'm glad it was not Mark Stoops. I have nothing against him as a coach but I just don't think he would've been a good fit here.
Billy if you are correct that a decision is to be made in the next 24 to 48 hours I don't see how I can be anyone other than Elijah Robinson or Mike Elko.
I'm good with both and hope it's one of the other.

If we can't make Day happen. I'm all in on Elko or E Rob. Let's just try and retain and focus on this years class/transfer portal.

It is pretty simple why the fan base rejected Mark Stoops. Mark Stoops was seen as Jimbo Fisher's Clone. Another OLD FART, slouching toward retirement .

I'm About to leave for work. Was Kyle Whittingham mentioned?

I'm great with Elko either way.

Not really as still in the running, I think he was only mentioned in the beginning like would Texags have melted down for him too? Maybe maybe not.

Listening through this podcast, it's hard to not come away with the impression that Bjork and the BOR are completely incompetent. If you're Bjork, and you get to that point and the BOR tells you to pound sand, how do you not resign? And how does the BOR not say, "you're fired"?

I know that a majority of fans are clamoring for Elko, but I'd much rather see Fisch. He's not going to be the one, but he would be an entirely out of the box move for this Admin. And he might be just what this team needs.

I agree with the first part regarding Bjork. I've thought from the start that Bjork isn't the real problem, it's the people who listen to him. This was not well thought out.

Don't worry Billy… Aggieland will only become a circus or mob if there are poorly thought out decisions, which the firing of Jimbo was from the very beginning based on Bjork's own description of the decision in his initial presser.

Those who made such a costly rash decision should not be trusted to make the hiring decision, which is actually playing out before our very eyes.

I hope this is a great hire but just seems like more of the same.

IMO, Aggieland dodged a .50 caliber bullet between the eyes, thanks to an immediate and intense uproar from the fan base that gave the decision makers pause before pulling the trigger on the Stoops hire. Instinctive, overwhelming opposition to a decision is always a good reason to reconsider and to re-validate decision variables and associated conclusions. Props to the decision makers for recognizing and accepting the importance of the massive, visceral response that was induced by the Xtweet by BL that the deal was completed and Stoops would likely arrive today in CS to confirm it.

Of course, we will never know what would have resulted from the hire, but choosing Mike Elko is widely hailed and clearly a better decision based upon the primary selection criterion of coaching success.

Last night will forever be recalled as an epic event in TexAgs history, and I am confident that the outcome it induced will be highly successful. Gig'em Aggies, and welcome home coach Elko; we have your back!

P.S. Best of luck to you, coach Stoops.

Edit for grammar.

Billy - right there with you on Nuno's "Hey Buddy." I don't know if he realized it, but he was doing Pauly Shore.
