Signing Day has arrived, and all eyes were on five-star Timpson (TX) standout Terry Bussey‍.

Would he stick with his Texas A&M commitment, or would he opt for another SEC program?

Well, on Wednesday morning, Bussey wasted little time letting his intentions be known.

He is headed to Aggieland.

Bussey has been committed to A&M since late September, when he chose the Aggies over LSU, Oklahoma, Alabama and Texas. While he never decommitted, he decided to take another look at his options in the wake of Jimbo Fisher’s departure.

The Aggies were always high on Bussey’s list, and he wanted to get to know new head coach Mike Elko and his staff. He also wanted to thoroughly check out his options.

After much thought, Bussey narrowed his list to A&M, LSU and Georgia as the February signing period approached. He hosted all three schools for in-home visits and visited all three in the weeks leading to his final decision.

When it was all said and done, Aggieland was the choice.

He becomes the 16th signee of A&M’s 2024 recruiting class. He is rated a five-star prospect by TexAgs and ranked No. 3 in the TexAgs 2024 Texas Top 100.

Over the years, Bussey has become a legendary figure on the football field.

A four-year varsity standout, Bussey claimed district Offensive MVP and all-state honors as a freshman and earned overall district MVP honors as a sophomore.

As a junior in 2022, he was named Mr. Texas Football by Dave Campbell’s Texas Football after throwing for 2,177 yards and 26 touchdowns and rushing for 2,597 yards and 46 touchdowns. On defense, he recorded 115 tackles and five interceptions, four of which he returned for touchdowns. On special teams, he returned three kickoffs and a punt for touchdowns.

During his senior season, Bussey threw for 2,691 yards and 36 touchdowns while rushing for 1,595 yards and 25 touchdowns. He tallied 85 tackles, seven interceptions and had two defensive touchdowns. He also returned two punt returns for scores.

Known for his theatrics on the field, Bussey made sure to save the best for last as Timpson claimed the 2A Division I State Championship. He rushed for 155 yards and two scores on 10 carries. He completed 12-of-15 passes for 311 yards and four touchdowns. He set two state title game records with a 97-yard touchdown pass and a 94-yard touchdown run, and he took home Offensive MVP honors as Timpson claimed a 49-7 win over Tolar to finish 16-0 on the season.

In addition to football, Bussey has also been a standout in basketball, baseball and track.
