Would yall be in favor of A&M signing 4 year deal with the two big Arizona schools.

Both are mid-tier, major conference teams that should be beatable. Would be a great road trip with excellent golf, and would improve our exposure for recruiting on the West Coast (obviously just landed the #1 QB recruit in the country for 2014 in Kyle Allen out of Scottsdale, AZ.)

Something like:
Arizona at home
Arizona @ Tucscon
ASU at home
ASU @ Tempe/Scottsdale

Option to renew the series for an additional 4 years.

I'm sure both Az schools would love exposure in Texas for recruiting purposes.

Apologize in advance for starting a topic not related to Autographgate.

I would like it. I like these kind of match ups.

..A lesser school at a big conference.

Yep. We should be playing a Pac 12 team every year IMO.

I also think the SEC **** the bed by not scheduling a bowl tie-in with a Pac 12 team.

LSU and Arizona State are on the verge of postponing their season opener in 2015.

A&M wants a BCS conference opponent to open Kyle with. ASU would have to move New Mexico but there could be room to work there.

Those games do nothing for us.

No recruiting benefit, no respect for scheduling them, no enhancement to SOS, and absolute disaster if we lose.

UA/ASU shows we are least scheduling real football programs in a major conferences, and it would be a respectable loss it if occurred.

I would love to play both of those schools because my dad went to Arizona State, and from the beginning of time I've been taught to hate U of A

Hell yeah I would like to play both or either. I doubt I would make the road trip, but those would be fun.

Plus, I hear the "talent" at those schools is top notch.

Agreed - added exposure to Arizona recruits. UCLA would be good. Southern California has some great players.

I was disappointed we dropped USC, but I trust we had our reasons.

Let's play Arizona State in baseball, in the Spring when it is warm. I want to see co-eds more than I ever want to see the Sun Devils or Wildcats play football.

Not opposed, but don't see tremendous benefit.

I'd rather add another in conference game or a team from Texas.

Colorado is old news.

I'd like UCLA though.

I would support this, especially having lived in AZ for 6 years.

ASU has the hottest, and largest selection, of chicks you can imagine. Sun Devil Stadium is actually a pretty cool stadium to visit, and Mill Avenue is awesome for night life.

UA down in Tucson is like tu, except smaller. Just as liberal and pretentious though.

Depending on the dates, I could coordinate such a trip with an elk or mulie hunt, and get some good dove hunting in while I'm at it as well.

Dude, skimpy shorts and tank top for chicks weather doesn't stop in AZ until about the middle of November.

Trust me - a September or even October game is going to have throngs and throngs of chicks dressed in less than the girls in the picture above.

With LSU, Alabama, & S. Carolina on our schedule every single year starting in 2014...plus Florida and Georgia in some years...I don't see any reason to add another Top 10 team like Oregon/Stanford.

The goal should be to add a respectable team in a major conference that you should rarely, if ever, be an underdog...plus there should be some kind of recruiting benefit.

I don't see us pulling many, if any, kids out of Oregon or Washington.

Without trying to sound derogatory towards the B12 or ACC...its those teams that should be scheduling OOC games with Top 10 teams. There just aren't many opportunity to have premier matchups outside of an OU/Texas or FSU/Clem/VT....and Clem/VT is no Bama/LSU. So while a TTU has tough games vs. Texas AND OU...Texas and OU must look outside of the conference to find a 2nd premier game.

Home and home with ASU. A game in Phoenix metro area would be good!

Tucson (U of A) no.

beating Oregon on a national TV would be huge for recruiting.

So you think playing Bama, LSU, S. Carolina, Oregon, and UGA/Florida in the same season is a good idea?

This, except vice versa. My family went to UA and they would love to see us vs them.

ASU is a better-looking tceh... Warts and all.

We probably do need a semi-respectable BCS opponent on the schedule every year. But not both.

-State of AZ does not have much football talent
-Its 1000 miles away, So Cal is only 350 miles
-The top AZ athletes are either going to LA or staying close to home

Kyle Allen was a unique situation. U$C is looking weak and Kiffin could be on the way out. Hundley will be the starter at UCLA at least the next 2 years. JFF just won the Heisman and we were the latest thing when he signed.

Agreed. Schools like this are much better than Louisiana Lafayette, Sam Houston, Lamar, Western Kentucky, etc. while still providing a 90% chance of a win. Yes, that's a well researched, completely grounded statistical fact. Trust me.

These schools also look better on a schedule and look better to recruits.

Arizona
Arizona State
California
Washington
Washington State
Colorado
Minnesota
North Carolina
NC State
Iowa
Iowa State
New Mexico
Illinois
Syracuse

Sure. Why not?

LSU plays A&M, Florida, Bama, OU in a few years.

no need to be afraid to play anyone with the new playoff format. And who knows how the future will pan out.

Would anyone really be shocked if Spurrier retire in 3 years and SC becomes just average?
