People have asked for a petition to sign regarding their objections to the 12 Empty Seat memorial planned for Kyle Field.

I've gone ahead and created said petition.

You have "change" on the petition. I will only sign if it says "eliminate" the whole concept.

Checking into that now. Not sure if it's on a timer.

I would sign one that said remove. Change gives them to much room to say they listened and then do whatever they want. Even though doing what they want is exactly what will happen anyway.

The signers of this petition acknowledge that they are against the addition of a 12 Empty Seat Memorial in Kyle Field. It's purpose is confusing, and it directly conflicts with the 12th Man tradition at Texas A&M. Twelve empty seats do not reflect the 12th Man spirit as well as 12 filled ones.

We, the Fightin' Texas Aggie students, former and current, respectfully request that you remove it from the Kyle Field Redevelopment Project.

Someone suggested one spot with a life sized statue of E. King Gill in same location as they are planning to put the 12 empty ones.

I think this will honor the tradition better than 12 empty seats.

I also agree with those who say that the 12 empty seats will be mis-quoted, mis-interpreted, etc. by MOST commentators on TV broadcasts.

One of the benefits of not having credentials is that I can do this without fear of being shunned. I doubt the TexAgs crew will jump in and state their opinions, or throw their support behind this, and I understand that.

This I could live with. Still a little cheesy but the lesser of two evils.

Someone should start a "Put Gill back in the stands where he belongs" campaign.
