They ruined it when the movie didn't end when the good guys blew up the tree!
WARNING: I have a deep-seated desire for others to love the Star Wars franchise as much as I do, in exactly the way I do, and get snippy and sensitive and passive-aggressive when they don't.

That was good. I think I enjoyed that more than War.

My only complaints are that it felt about 20 minutes too long, and the first 45 minutes or so are pretty slow. But once it picks up, it really gets going.

They definitely are opening it up for further sequels, and I'm all in.

Very different tone than the trilogy. I don't think it was good as war or dawn, but it is a solid entry overall.

I enjoyed it. I liked it more than war, but it's below dawn for me. Would be tough for an apes movie to rate higher than dawn for me.

I could never decide between Rise and Dawn as my favorite. Dawn is deeper and more complex, but I love the pacing in Rise. Just clips along with barely any lulls, and it's just the right length. And it's just such a perfect origin story.

I hope they just rip off the Fast and Furious movies for the next five.

I'm here for all of it. As long as the quality stays up, and there's no signs it won't.

Absolutely loved it.

It's obviously not on the level of Avatar, but outside of the Apes franchise, Avatar is the closest thing to what this entry feels like in terms of vibe, spectacle, special effects, etc. Just a fantastic hero's journey with memorable characters (Raka being my favorite) and a number of fist-pumping moments that had our audience cheering multiple times.

I'm a huge fan of the last trilogy, and while this one doesn't have quite the edge those movies did, it really is a miracle how good this franchise continues to be, in just a slightly different way. To that end, I'll echo that the setup for the next one is also incredibly well done, and yeah, I'll be first in line for however many more of these they want to make.

This one, though, is great for the whole family - maybe more so than any of the last three - and I could not recommend it more.

As soon as you heard the eagles flying overhead in the end, you knew what was up.
