Have also used Shaftel and was pleased. Have not been since they moved to their new location on San Felipe.

+1 for Lindsey Leigh. Her stuff isn't cheap, but the wife loves it. I usually take her in person and help her pick out what she wants so it's more of an experience . For an online option my wife also loves Ring Concierge, they occasionally run sales.

My wife also likes Lindsey Leigh. We did a blue stone and diamond band for her that sits with her wedding band after the birth of our first son.
Also, obligatory Chuck. He did her engagement ring, wedding band, and my wedding ring.

I was about to be surprised that no one mentioned Chuck, but did see him mentioned once. Did know him a while back and was a good guy. Not sure if he still sells jewelry.

You cannot do any better than IW Marks. Top quality diamonds at low prices. Irv and Diane travel to the diamond capitals to purchase the best and sell at wholesale prices cutting out the diamond brokers. When you go to IW Marks store, ask for Irv (the owner) and tell him you are an aggie. He gives discounts to first responders, veterans and aggies. You will thank me later for the money you save.

Depending on the area of town you are in. Dixon Jewelers in Humble, is a good place for unique diamond necklace.

+1 for Ronnie Hoffman. He's a wholesaler and not a jewelry store. Bring in a pic of what you want and he can make it. Lot more diamond for your dollar.

Irv died in 2008. They just closed the store permanently.buddybee said:

Jonathan's Fine Jeweler's. Jay will take great care of you, and you'll really not find any better quality in town.

Not sure you can shop on price or value as there are several moving parts and not sure you can ever get an apples-to-apples comparison. So, suggest you focus on customer service and getting what you want.
Bought my wife's first wedding ring from Herfort's in the mid 1980's. I don't remember much about it, except that the ring cost more than my first truck. She recalls being pressured to choose a more expensive diamond - back in the day (before the interwebs), the jewelers would recommend you spend "x" on a wedding ring based on my pay - she was unhappy with the pressure and ended up where we planned to. Again, this is a long time ago (even Mattress Mac employed HIGH pressure sales tactics back then), so just not sure how this experience would compare to today.
Bought my wife's "update" wedding ring from Jonathon's about 10 years ago. J is factual in his discussions (I will sell this for "x", that for "y", with reasoning as to why) and very low pressure on the buyer.
Hope this helps.

Hit me up for diamond sourcing. I source watches and diamonds for customers all the time. I don't have a brick and mortar, but can get super good deals.
