Does anyone know if the roof will be open tonight? Weather looks phenomenal.

I had complete confidence you'd post, or I wouldn't have stayed up.
Normally, I'm not the type looking for other's failures.
I tell people, Baseball allows for multi-millions to be made by people failing 75% of the time.
Hope rings eternal.

Have we chatted about the easiest way to pirate games that are shown on Bally's this season (yes, I know the game tonight is on ESPN)?

Why/how is this surprising? Because they've been sold out?Mr Gigem said:

(Your point stands and this is the message I was trying to convey...the opposite/reverse of last year)

Season prediction:
Sort of a mirror of last year. We start a bit slow as the rotation takes shape and then start coming on strong around September, overtaking the Mariners to win the West.
In the playoffs, our pitching depth really takes center stage getting us at least to the ALCS. After that? Who knows.
95-67 regular season, AL West Champions
Sounds like the opposite of last season. Rangers started off hot and let the Astros take the division in September.

They have any light blue jerseys in stores up in the metroplex? Been trying to get one for a while and can't find one online.

A lot of people are projecting the Rangers to take a step back in the regular season this year.
How quickly they forget the bullpen was historically bad in the regular season.
We also never won a game when trailing after 7 innings or something like that?
The Rangers were actually incredibly unlucky in the regular season last year (don't even get me started on the blocking home plate call in Chicago...).
We should be over 90 wins and one of the more dangerous teams in the back half of the year when (if, gulp) the rotation is healthy.
Let's freaking go!

It's all about health for us. If we can get most of the core players BACK, for starters, and then they play 130+ games, I think we'll be one of the best teams in baseball, but if we continue to struggle with injuries, then it's up in the air so-to-speak.

We all expect Seager will have to miss time at some point, but the question is how much time will it be and will Duran be able to play at his early-2023 self rather than the guy he was by the mid to late part of the year. Hopefully Semien can continue to be an iron man.
I'm feeling good about it.
As far as I am aware, the only lineup guy we are expecting to be missing on opening day is Lowe. And Walsh has been really good in ST, so I think it's possible we get above- or at-replacement production from that spot until Lowe is back.Tksymm7 said:

For the second straight year, Dunning feels like a guy who will have a huge role in the outcome of our season. First half starting pitching is precarious and a strong run from him could be the difference between a below average and above average rotation until Scherzer, Mahle, and deGrom can get in there.

I think how teams manage health has been front-and-center in MLB for most teams for some time.
When we made the WS the 1st couple years, we had almost an intact rotation for the entire season.
What made us manageable last year was players like Duran filling-in and SP depth for a mostly healthy rotation.
NYY lost Cole Gerritt
Balt has lost Bradish
Tampa's rotation is another mess
Houston has questions with Verlander
Lots of RPs and Closers have been sidelined already.

BTW - ticket prices are going UP for tonight's game. Maybe only a couple of dozen tickets still on StubHub. My section has tickets around $650 a seat right no. Face value for season ticket holders was $75.
2:04p, 3/28/24
I forget about parking every year - anyone remember how easy cash lot parking is if we're there right at 5? My dad doesn't get around so well, so I'd rather not have us parking 2 miles away. Always think about ubering but afraid of surge prices on way home (FW).

So ready for the new season to start.
Bring it on!!
I'll be there Sunday for my first viewing of the defending Champs.

Didn't read the details, but saw a popup message on my phone that G. Cole got put on the 60 day IL. I think their initial plan was rest; now it's the 60 day IL; probably just a matter of time before the seemingly inevitable TJ comes. Kinda sucks, but just the way it is typically.

8th for Carter? I know they are throwing a lefty, but that's pretty far down the lineup.

Swap Jung and Langford and I love it. I like the idea of having that much speed in front of Semien and Seager
