If anyone has upcoming flights out of IAH with Southwest and gets an email with flight changes make sure to peek at the airport they put you at as it might be HOU. My Dec flight was changed to HOU with terrible flight times. Simply call to Southwest and have in hand the flights you want. They made the changes for me that were more expensive with no cost to me. A poster on the Houston board said he got $100 travel vouchers for the inconvenience. No harm in asking for that!

Isn't it normal for Southwest to not charge more for a different flight due to a schedule change on their end?

In reply to jh0400 Yes I did some digging and this and you are correct. I had an outbound airport change as well from IAH To HOU. Main reason I wanted others to peek at changes to be aware of an airport change

they've always done this.

Even something as little as a flight number change allows you to change your flight for no cost.

I've done it to my advantage several times before.. Book the cheapest flight of the day, usually 6am.. then if something changes, I'm allowed to change it to that 10am flight that I really initially wanted.

Of course, your new selection always has to be within 24 hours +/- and airport within 100 miles or something like that.
