If you were confronted with a last meal, what would it be? I will take a large sushi platter.

16 oz ribeye
loaded baked potato
sliced garden tomatoes with salt
chocolate chip cookies
We had that nearly every Sunday for lunch when I was a kid. I'd want that memory as my last meal.

Damn I want a nice ribeye now. However, the price seemed to have doubled recently. I am retired, thus I often ask myself if I deserve something before I buy it. Unfortunately, I feel like I don't deserve a ribeye. lol I will spend money on my wife though.HTownAg98 said:

Pappa's lobster deviled eggs as an app
Wedge Salad
A bone in dry aged filet topped with foie gras (had this at Pappa's and was definitely the best steak I've ever had)
Roasted mushrooms (also Pappa's)
Roasted asparagus
Since it's my last meal...I'll also throw in a side of black truffle topped risotto from Bouchon
Dessert is a tough one....maybe a really good bread pudding with ice cream

I was active-duty army and stationed at Birmingham, AL for a couple years with a very large NG unit. I was able to buy a dozen raw oysters for $2 at a small Hispanic owned fish market. These were the size of my palm. There were a couple times the landlord, his buddy, and I ate a couple dozen oysters each with lemons and hot sauce. Then we threw the shells into the woods. It was a wonderful culinary experience.VP at Pierce and Pierce said:

I would have one grandmother's chicken and dumplings with turnip greens, purplle hull peas, hot water cornbread and corn on the cob with her pecan pie for dessert. And my other grandmother's fried chicken, english peas and mashed potatoes with her Christmas candies for dessert.

I got you beat. Vacationed one July 4th week on the Puget Sound. My BiL had a WA fishing license which entitled us to stroll along the shore by our rental and pick several dozen daily. Our preferred method for eating them was lightly fried in olive oil and served on French bread but they were glorious! Forever ruined me for paying ridiculous prices at some fancy seafood place. I'd do that vacation again just for the oysters lol. Excuse me while I go cry a bit.

My parents lived in Seattle. My father was a super talented artist. He won a Seattle wide art competition with his wood carvings.
I can never win! lolSpiderDude said:Tanker123 said:I was active-duty army and stationed at Birmingham, AL for a couple years with a very large NG unit. I sell it online. All the proceeds go to Victory4Veterans. The organization is chartered to build world class veterans centers across the country to provide essential medical and personal services to first responders and veterans in need. The charity endeavors to prevent suicides in the respective communities as well. I enjoy changing lives for the better.

I'm gonna have to go with good brisket, white bread, pickles and onions. A proper lasagna. Good mac and cheese. A romaine, feta, watermelon, pecan salad with balsamic dressing. Likely no dessert but a great coffee with a premium cigar would be a fantastic way to cap it.
