Elko & Co. remain busy even during a traditional recruiting respite

Quick note on Cobey Sellers
In case you missed it, Shadow Creek DB Cobey Sellers announced on Twitter yesterday that he'll be making his commitment on May 11th. At one point very early in the 2024 calendar, I thought there was a significant gap between these two parties as Mike Elko and staff were turning their full attention to the 2025 class. Since then, it seems as though both sides have really warmed up to the idea of a future for the 6-0, 175 pound cover man in College Station. For a long time, Oklahoma was the perceived (and likely real) leader for Cobey. However, the Aggies have made up some major ground thanks to the efforts of Jordan Peterson, Jay Bateman, and the rest of the defensive staff - so much so that now, based on what I've been able to gather out of south Houston, the Maroon and White momentum is going to have to be undone by Brent Venables and the Sooners. I believe conversations are still being had so I wouldn't go as far as calling this one an A&M lock. That would be unwise. However, we do like where the Aggies stand 10 days away from his decision. Lastly, Sellers started his high school career at Ft Bend Christian - meaning he's been teammates and is still friends with another big target in OLB Max Granville. It stands to reason that if Sellers makes the call for the Aggies, it would only further their standing with Granville.
