A coaching change doesn’t happen very often with Texas A&M baseball. In fact, Texas A&M has employed only three head coaches to run the program over the past 63 seasons.

Tom Chandler took the reins of Aggie baseball in 1959 and finished the 1984 season with 660 wins and a .667 winning percentage.

Mark Johnson was the top assistant at Mississippi State under legendary hall of fame coach Ron Polk. He came to Aggieland in 1984 as the heir apparent to Chandler.
