Agree with Dye course at Stone bridge. A beast.

But someone mentioned old Waterwood National. Now that's a blast from the past!!

I have played Stonebridge - Dye Course for many years and it is a beast, but not nearly as bad as it was a few years ago. They have cut the fescue down a bit more in the last year or 2.

My understanding is they have tried to tone it down a little bit to attract more women and new members that are just average golfers.

A couple of years ago, the fescue was so out of control that if your ball was a foot or two off the fairway, you weren't finding your ball. And if by some miracle you did, you sure as hell weren't trying to hit it out because you would break your wrists if you tried (and failed) to swing a club through that stuff.

Even toned down, it's probably still the hardest. The bentgrass greens are great there though.

Stonebridge..ie..Pete Dye's torture chamber.

I have not seen it in many years...but I still have nightmares about helping to mow greens or tee boxes there.

In the early 90s...if you wanted to be humbeled...you played Stonebridge.

FYI..The lakes at both courses were once brude pond for Bass at Lake Texoma and Ray Roberts..et all. You could catch more Croppie or Bass on a fly rod than most people have ever caught in a life time. Damn those were fun days.

My best,
Stump
