I par the easy par five to shoot one over -- unreal. I freaking hate golf.

Don't be too hard on yourself. Even the scoring average for the pros on a 500+ yard hole will be easily over 4. It may be an easy par 5, but I bet for a typical scratch golfer it's still only a birdie maybe half the time, probably even less. Point being, even if you are good enough to have missed par by only 1 shot, you're not good enough to assume you should birdie every par 5. And I mean that in a nice way. Be proud of your +1! It's a great round!

73 at shadow glen from the tips is a good score. Not the hardest course out there but difficult enough!

I shot a 47-34 = 81 on Sunday. I'm an 11 handicap, so I have no clue how that happened. First time ever under par for a 9.

I live pretty close to Shadow Glen (assuming you mean the one in Olathe) so if you ever need anyone to play with I'm available. I'd never turn down playing at a nice course and my handicap is 4.5 so I'm not a complete hacker.

I was thinking of Manor.

I'm sure it is the one in Manor but you can't fault me for hoping it is the one in Olathe which is Tom Watson's home course and the number one course in Kansas

I live in OPark but I'm a 17 handicap.... But that's bc I can't hit my irons for crap the last few times I've played. I get of the tee just fine but find a way to tale 2-3 more strokes to get on!!! Or, I'll get on in regulation and 3 Putt!

I'd be lucky to break 100 at Shadow Glen.

I'll have to check that out. I live downtown kc so I usually play either east or northland courses.

If y'all ever find a way to get on out there let me know. My wife's work has a corporate account out there and used to do the company tournament out there but they switched to sycamore ridge. If they ever go back believe me that I'll be playing in a second.

If you're ever in the neighborhood Lost just drive by. The houses and the few holes you can see are unbelievable

I usually play OP and StAndrews. My last 5 scores have been 88, 92, 87, 96, 113 (Leawood S.), and 104! My Handicap was coming down from March (just started playing again) and I exploded the last few times I've played. Can't hit my irons worth a darn.

I'm a member at Shawnee CC so that's about the only place I play. I live real close to Prairie Highlands but I haven't made it out there to play yet.

If you are ever short a person playing anywhere just let me know. I usually play on the weekends or Wednesday since it's my day off from kid watching duties.

OP's description of 18 sounds like the Manor course.

Yes, the course in Manor. It used to play hard, but it's a fairly easy course after all the changes.

It would have been my first round under par in the last ten years. I am good golfer, but I still struggle to meet goals and the game is still not fair.

When you're stroking the driver, the putter fails. When you're stroking the putts, the driver fails. When you're stroking the irons, the putter and driver fails. When you're about to break par, it all fails. F golf and the horse it rode in on.

I think I heard that only 5% of golfers can consistently shoot below 80? I would welcome a 73, but I can understand being that close to par and not getting being frustrating. I would welcome joining the 5%.

Nomad - I don't think it's "consistently". I think it's "ever" break 80. It probably depends on how you define "golfer" though.
