I know I know win games. I have all the faith in the world that these kids will do just that. They need us as fans to be more vocal and loud during the games. We need to be a problem for any team that comes here to play.. Some how open up the reserved seats that don't show up for students. So what if the oldies don't like it get over it. Its time to turn Blue Bell into the same atmosphere as Kyle.
Just my thoughts.

I am not sure opening up for the students does in relation to a more rowdy atmosphere. The students spend their time yelling at each other - i.e. "Hello" when someone walks by on the phone- oooooh, that turns the opposing team into a scared mess! And don't forget the "get in the box" " get out of the box " ones; those are new and creative ways to untie the opposing team off!

That brand of rowdiness will soon be banned by the SEC- or maybe every OOC team will refuse to play is because of our. "Rowdiness"'

The majority of that is probably coming from folks who were students back in the aughts, not from current students. There hasn't been much new blood upstairs in a while.

Like where your head is at, especially allowing students in reserved sections if those people don't show up. Just wish more students came.

Put rowdy people in the stands.

2 sections that used to be students are now usually older people that wanted to pay a general admission price but didn't want to stand or sit on a hill.

The number of student "regulars" at the park has been dwindling for years...

...and as 76 said, of the traditions that carried on, heckling geared toward opposing players and coaches and on field occurrences is almost non-existent.

So, first off, its Rowdy

It was rowdy when I was there, dont know what happened since.

When students start paying more than ~$10/ seat, I'm sure they will think about maybe opening up the second deck reserved seating. If you pay good money for season tickets/seats, no one should sit in them except you (unless they have your ticket)

First off, we went over the spelling earlier in the thread.. Second if you buy them come to the games. All I'm saying is if your not going to be at certain games maybe they could find away to let someone use the seats that are there.

Didn't mean to sound pissed I know you can't be at all games. I just know that a loud and full stadium helps the guys and they love it. Thats all.

I too would like to see those seats occupied. If by students, great

As for student attendance in general, yeah it's bad. They just don't come.

So what did the NCAA rocket scientists do? Killed the offense with dead bats

Yeah, that'll get the young people out to the park

The only people that get to determine who sits in those seats are the people who purchased them.

I agree but all I'm saying is if they aren't using them or didn't give to someone for the game what's wrong with letting the ticket office figure out a way to use them?

Because it isn't the responsibility of the ticket office to do that. That seat has been paid for.

I bought a seat for my son when I was 8 weeks pregnant because a seat in our row came up in January. The ticket office should have been able to put someone in that seat for an entire season?

If they are going to take your seat, then they need to refund every time they do that.

I spent almost 1k last year for tickets and parking. If I can't make it until the 4th due to any reason, the ticket office should not be sticking people in the seats I paid for.

well Tonya I guess we agree to disagree. I respect your opinion but I just feel that if they are going to be empty why couldn't they be used? Maybe there is a way to credit holder if they can sell for single games. Don't know just wanting it to be full. You have a good evening.
God Bless!

Universities spend millions redoing stadiums to increase visibility and revenue...and take the fans right out of the game. Suites, party areas, large concourses all compete with the game for attention. High dollar donors get prime seats and future baseball fans (students) are priced out.

In addition, the athletic departments in many universities absolutely ignore that you have to market to today's students as you would the general public. The students (the real source of what makes a baseball crowd) have to see going to the baseball games as worthwhile when compared to the other items on their priority schedule. Just because it is Aggie baseball no longer does it...times have changed and students have changed.

As a season ticket holder, I try to sell or give away my unused tickets, but my concern with opening up the reserved seating isn't so much for when I'm not there as when I am--if you opened up my section behind the visitor's dugout, what you'd end up with is visiting fans sitting down amongst the season ticket holders. I can tell you from experience back in the days before they had ushers checking tickets that this is not a good idea.
Captain Pablo

As much as I'd like to see the seats occupied, I do not think there is a workable way to turn the unused seats over to the masses without the ticket holders' consent...even late in the game.

About the only thing I can think of is a more aggressive campaign by the athletic department to get apathetic prime seat ticket holders to sell or give away unused tickets.

I don't see the ADept doing this, nor do I see the ticket holders giving a crap whether the seats are occupied or not

Do not know what all sports passes cost these days but student GA seats are only a dollar or two more than when I was a student.

student ticket in 2008 = 4/5 bucks

student ticket in 2014 = 7/8 bucks

It's not the money

It's that college kids are not into baseball anymore.

It's a slow game that got slower in 2011 and young people just aren't into that. In fact, old people are about to not be into if the game doesn't pick up the pace.

BBCOR bats have KILLED the excitement among almost everybody but the baseball "purists"

1 CWS win in 21 years, and it was 21 years ago will do that to a fan base.

Hey maybe Childress' year 10 will be the charm. Sign him up to a 10 year extension!

well I'm not sure anyone is priced out. They pretty much sell out all the tickets. IMO the berms and GA section has been pretty damn good attendance wise for all the big games.

It's the other areas that are empty. But I blame two years of .500 conference baseball. Not much buzz for this program right now. You can't fill the house with "just barely making a regional" teams.

BQ_90,

You get it, we have not done a dang thing in baseball in so long it really does slow down your fan base and enthusiasm. We thought Blue Bell would give us a boost, it didn't. We thought moving to the SEC would give us a boost, it didn't. The only thing left to change is the coach and we didn't do that. Nothing can be done to energize the fan base right now except winning and/or a coaching change.

We are three seasons removed from being in Omaha. Quite frankly the atmosphere was not any better then than it was this season.
