@Whiskey Before Breakfast, you should have been redpot buddies with my dad. I would very much like to get in contact with you. I have never gotten to really hear about his days as a redpot as he passed away before I went to Texas A&M and became a redpot myself.

Built 2015 as a fish in H-1
2016 as a pisshead
2017 as a Jr. Redpot

Spent the weekend with Chris' parents last month now that they've moved back to Texas. Tough time of the year for them and us but we enjoyed seeing them again after many years since the last time we were together! Great family and so glad they're not far from us now!!! Keep them and all the other families in your thoughts and prayers!

what year(s) were you out there building bonfire? 74-77
who did you build it with? Everyone
were you a chief? pot? or just red ass? Moore Yellow Pot - 75, Jr, Head Civ - 76, Head Civ - 77
and when did you realize that cut sucks and the real work was done at load? Real work was everywhere, especially getting the equipment, money, and the people involved to make it happen. But it was the best times of my life and the best real world training I have ever received in how to build and work as a team. I highly recommend everyone do something like it if for no other reason than to find out what it takes to lead people.

'99 was some of the worst days of my life, especially worrying for the then Redpots and trying to find a way to help them overcome the grief and guilt. At least a bunch of us dead ones were there to link harms and try to help

Also, have made a few trips to the current one. It's great to see the fire still burns in this group!

Built 1971-1975 as a corp member. It would be interesting to track bonfire changes ranging from the centerpole, who worked on the stack, where bonfire was located etc. The above three changed from my day to something different.

Cut/killed/carried trees, loaded trucks, unloaded trucks, ran f-crews at stack, picked out and designed and built centerpoles, advised sons, rode trucks. Lived life. Time of my life.

Worked around the stack

BQ Pisshead privilege at the time to supply the biggest log. An old Ag donated a monster pecan tree that that had been hit by lightening on his farm down around Sealy. Owned a construction company thus helped us out with cranes and a big truck and trailer. Got to the site to clean the log up (i.e. cut off branches, etc.). Broke two winches pull it to the trailer, guy was pissed, but it was his two operators. Took forever to get it out of his muddy field, truck got stuck twice.

Pulled over on Welborn just before Jersey, so several of us could crawl up on the log and ride close to the stack. The Bonfire leaders ended up selling it to a guy who was going to cut it up and make pecan tables out of it. Supposedly paid for a bunch of expense for at least a couple of years.
