Why college students would want to get all into these protests is beyond me. Especially those that don't have a clue what they are really protesting. Protesting looks so boring and there are so many other things those students could be doing that are more enjoyable.
Low self esteem and the need to feel valued.
Other general mental health issues.
Very highly emotionally driven.

A combination of these are the primary reasons, especially for the follower protestor. I'm being 100% serious and saying this objectively.

Some of the organizers and people behind the scenes have ulterior motives (political and financial reasons etc.).

I know this has been mentioned to some degree, but I want to revisit it.

Most of the tents are the same type, and there are many tents.

At UCLA many of the protestors were wearing the same type of white hard hat.

There was a huge amount of debris, coolers, all sorts of stuff left behind.

Surely there are campus cameras that recorded the process by which this material arrived on campus and was distributed?

Could some journalist follow the trail to see who was on campus or just off campus or at some gathering site with a truck passing out the material????

How about RICO indictments?

How about going after that professional agitator at Columbia who directed the takeover of the building?

Lol, come one the university is protecting if not outright helping these protestors. Any real journalist will be stone walled if not vilified. It is all orchestrated by these marxist within the universities and spread out to the paid protesters to create chaos.

100% spot on

closely observe WHO these protestors are

fatties
LGBTQ
feminists
Radical Islamists
BLM
ANTIFA
Marxists/Communists

this is literally their religion.

so many of them are mentally ill, spoiled rotten babies, crazy leftists. now suddenly they have the "excitement" of fighting the USA, fighting the Jews, fighting the "power" and they have a cause and an enemy

of course, their cause is literally supporting rapists and murderous Muslim terrorists- but that is secondary to harming the USA, proving they don't have "white privilege" (with daddy's credit card), and rebelling against capitalism.

I am waiting for Babylon Bee to write an article about how Columbia University and Columbia Outdoors are in a marketing agreement.

"Nine out of Ten Anarchists agree Columbia is the best in progressive thought manipulation AND tents!"

All this is cosplay for these dumbass kids.

Going to burning man or cochella has run its course. Intermural Quiddich don't move the needle.

Zoomers so desensitized now this is how they get gotta get their tingles.

So you gotta remember that this is the most exciting thing to ever happen in their lives so far.

any theories to why these all started popping up in late April, all at the same time, all around the country?

The war has been going on for 6 months now and nary a peep until the last week of April?

My guess? Weather. Too cold during winter to sleep in a tent.

a great interview video... kids got talent.

highlights:
1 minute mark: police are bad and should be defunded, but I would call them if I needed them
2 minute mark: free everywhere from capitalism (including congo, sudan and haiti)
2:25 we wear masks to hide our faces
4:40 Israeli who left, doesn't support the Israeli govt and is an atheist, tells the truth "this is what white kids in America do." "We have a country so good that people have time to b***h and moan."
6:16 self hating orthodox Jew

Most of the students won't talk on camera and the ones that do can't give logical answers

Interviewer did a great job of not injecting his personal opinion into the questions. It is telling that the protestors seemed to be instructed not to answer questions.

"free everywhere from capitalism"

This is something they just can't understand: Capitalism is nothing more than a description of how economics works. It is not an econopolitical model like socialism or communism, where economics is controlled and governed for social and political ends. You can't "free" somewhere of it because it simply describes natural economic behavior when people are left to their own devices. "Freeing" somewhere from natural economic behavior is nothing more than a euphemism for subjugating it to someone's idea of ideal economic and political order, namely socialism and communism.

that's a great question!

clearly this has been some time in the organizing mode. although in reality there were anti-Israel protests on October 8th around the world.

my guess is that the student organizations may have wanted to wait until it was warm enough to get enough students outside in the encampments, as well as making it harder for the admin to kick all of them out before graduation.

likely it is just a question of copy catting. once one university showed they could get away with it- every other leftist wants to join the Tik Tok videos.

it's also just before finals week.

Im going to guess their list of demands is going to grow by 1 in the next few days and emails of them attempting to convince professors that this cause is way more important than exams and they should just get an A, and calling them racists/Zionists if they refuse to put up with their bull*****

Bump. Seems like this is the most likely MO. Non-functional ****** kids getting out of exams by supporting terrorism. Did not have that on my bingo card.
