Aaron Jones released

Jones always seemed to play exceptionally well against the Cowboys, I bet we make a move.

Yes. I wouldn't mind it on a short term friendly deal.

He's off the board. To the Vikings for 1yr at 7mil.

Jones to Vikings. Poop.

Tik tok, Henry.

Edit: Well, yeah, definitely draft a productive RB if available. Dowdle could take a big step, but Deuce? LOL... Henry for a season or two would be a positive addition, especially for depth.

Dallas would be much better off drafting a RB and signing 1-2 for running-back-by-committee rather than spending a bunch on a veteran. That money is better used elsewhere.

Clyde Edward's-Helaire is out there. Young and not many carries over last two seasons. Might be able to get him on the cheap

I agree with this. Dallas needs to get younger again while subsequently offloading some money. I think we are seeing this as well. We let Biadasz, Pollard, Armstrong and as of this moment still, Tyron Smith, walk. It seems pretty obvious to me that they are going to try to get younger and cheaper through the draft, which tbh is their only real solution when you are looking at already paying a QB 40+ million (then extending him to 50+), have pushed a ton of veteran deals back, and have huge signings coming up such as Parsons, Ceedee, Odigihzuwa etc. I would like to Cowboys to be involved in free agency A LITTLE more than they have been so far, but not too upset that they aren't paying a premium for players on the market.

Why the * are we even talking about RB right now. Most of y'all didn't think Pollard was that good last year and yet TN was more than happy to have him over Derick Henry.

We go to work with Dowdle and Deuce... we also draft somebody. And if the draft doesn't fall our way and we don't get a RB we like, there will still be plenty of Vet RBs sitting on the coach and waiting for a call. We need to sit and wait on RB for now.

Exactly. RB, more than any other position, can find good production at a lower cost.

In no way shape or form am I going into this season with Dowdle and Deuce as my top two RBs. I am 1000% drafting a guy in the top four rounds if that is the case. But I agree with you there is no need to sign one right now.

Edit to add: this is by all accounts a very solid overall draft, and with the amount of QBs that I think are going to go top 10 and in the first round, coupled with how many WRs I think we are going to see go in the first round, we could see some very good players drop to the second and third, RBs being a good example.

I bet Pollard looks much better this year 2 years after being injured. And to me, going "all in" means they make a move and not roll with a guy with injury history and a specialist in Duece. I would have loved Jones but he's gone. Wouldn't mind Henry on a 1-2 year deal if he's willing to come here.

Henry to the Ravens.

Jones, Barkley, and Henry gone. Jerruh asleep at the wheel.

Damn this is frustrating. Jerry just waiting on, " That Deal "?

Is he distracted with his court cases?

He's missing the party - again…

I'm not sure there's been a single contract these last two days that I wish the cowboys had done.

Being patient and flexible is what smart teams do, big free agent spending isn't what gets you a super bowl win.

Also worth noting that any cap space we roll over will just give us more to work with for future extensions.

Agree. None of these guys are game changers. Barkley has finished one season. You want to tie up $30+m on that guy?

Draft a RB and we will be fine w Deuce, Dowdle and a draft pick.

Henry got 2/16M with first year $9M guaranteed I believe. That would seem doable for an all in season. The running game sucked for long stretches last year.

I would have been happy to get him but he is 30 years old. He's taken a ton of punishment (and dealt a lot out).

I agree with that but splitting carries with the other guys might have helped him some.

I wish Cowboys would have signed Moss, then drafted a rookie. The deal Moss got in Cincy was very reasonable.

You're assuming that draft pick will be NFL caliber?

Deuce and Dowdle don't hack it.

Bet the Cowboys wind up picking up a vet on waivers.

Well, if you get someone around the 3rd or 4th round, the odds are pretty good he will be decent. I think the cowboys have earned the benefit of the doubt that they draft pretty well.

Cowboys like the compensatory pick game. Let your lower tier starters sign elsewhere and don't sign anyone else's starters when they hit free agency. Only do trades and pick people up after they've been cut. Doing that maximizes the compensatory picks. It's a lot less exciting than actually signing free agents that you know can play, and signing cut players has worked out pretty terribly for them. But it seems their are still all-in on that strategy

I heard a pretty wild stat yesterday that 7/11 of the highest paid free agents from the 2022 free agent class are no longer with the team that signed them, and 2/4 of the other guys had to take pay cuts to stay on their team.

Yup! There's a reason why I asked the question earlier "are there any guy we really want?". Because if you go back a few months ago, pretty much all of the names that peaked my interest were either re-signed or franchise tagged.

NFL teams don't let their best players get away for free. Every now and then you can find a Stephon Gilmore type player that can help your team. But 99% of the time, you aren't going to find a player that can radically change your team just sitting on the open market.

Eric Kendricks leaving the 9ers at the alter. Signing with the good guys. That helps!!

Well, the immediate thought is he is better than anything we had at LB last year (after LVE went down). So you can check the box that he improves the team.

Nice pickup.

What kind of low IQ person and janky a** law firm goes after Dak for $100 million!? I can guarantee you his entire net worth is well short of that. It's like a bunch of degenerates got together and just started throwing around big numbers.

Not a doubt in my mind that this whole thing is completely fabricated and I hope Dak's lawyers go scorched earth on the them!

Jordan Lewis coming back. I actually like this move assuming it's a reasonable vet deal. He's been solid for us since he got here.

CB doesn't feel like a position we need to be chasing in this years draft, but without Lewis and/or Gilmore we probably would have been doing just that (like we did when we drafted Bossman).

Twitter rumors that Dallas is working on a deal for Stefon Diggs. Just rumors though.

That would be awesome! We'd have a true weapon on the other side of Lamb.

Plus Stefon would be reunited with his brother!
