Pretty good IPA. Nothing really special or standing out but I would buy it again. Solid all-around.

I really liked their black IPA (don't remember the name) and Tramp Stamp was good. I want to try their full line.

Some advice please. I'm travelling to Southern California next week (Carlsbad and San Diego) and I'm looking for 4 or so breweries there to visit and sample. Do any of you have any suggestions? Do I have to go all the way to LA or are there some good SD choices? Thanks.

And to keep with the spirit of the thread, I'm currently drinking a Coffee Porter from Real Ale.

Posted my thoughts on the other thread, but they did a great job. And if you do go this week try to get some of the Southern Star Bourbon Somesuch. Fantastic. Kevin's been saving it since last fall.

saint arnold black ipa?

coming soon it seems; (from newsletter)

"Attention: Homebrewers! The style for this year's Big Batch Brew Bash is Black IPA. The winner gets lots of accolades plus the chance to have a big batch of it brewed up and released by us (although we still waiting on tank availability to brew last year's winner - sorry, David Rogers). The event will be held on May 20, but you need to get brewing your entry now."

anyone go to Hay Merchant last night?

According to their Facebook page Karbach is rolling out a smoked dopplebock tomorrow. They're really putting the screws to St Arnold's in terms of variety(and quality for that matter).

i can tell you i've been two karbach twice and the amount of people has more than doubled since the first time which was in december.

I like both Karbach and St Arnolds tours. I snag 3 little blue tokens from peeps to take to the next Karbach tour.

I have to say the the Friday happy hour tour is a win win for Karbach.

Filled up the growler last night with Buffalo Bayou gingerbread stout. It's pretty tasty stuff. I never had any pumpkinator, but this is what I envisioned it to be like in terms of strong spice flavor coming through.
