Take cash, lots of cash. Bribe an uber driver to take you back to your folks place. Those guys love cash and it's under the table.

I've had decent luck walking a few blocks away to get out of the traffic and then calling an uber. Have also paid a guy stuck in exiting traffic $20 to drive me to my house (which is less than a mile from NRG, but you could do the same thing to get yourself out of the traffic).
