Going to be in Tyler for work tomorrow evening and need a good place to eat. Open to anything really, but don't prefer chains or Mexican food. What does the rose have to offer? TIA

Ended up at Dakota's, that's where the client wanted to eat. It was ok, steak was cooked well, but was under seasoned. The fried shrimp appetizer was really good, but the cocktails were weak.

If you ever go again Bernard's Mediterranean Restaurant is outstanding. Mostly Mediterranean but also has some good Italian dishes. Everything is from scratch. The owner Bernard is a great guy. His daughter is an Aggie.

Welcome to east Texas. Be glad the teetotaler/green acres blue hairs let you get it in grocery stores. Smith county was dry until 2013/2014-ish??? And then they only passed non-liquor in grocery stores.
I'm pretty salty about it because I grew up there and moved away before they opened it up the little they have. Every weekend we were going to Kilgore.

So what's the deal with no liquor stores and no beer in the gas station?

But yet there's a CBD/smoke shop on nearly every corner, makes no sense.
On the positive side, I can see the draw to north east Texas, plenty of trees and everything was nice and green.

There's beer in almost every gas station around.
Now liquor? You gotta drive for that.
