I wouldn't necessarily use BaT as your measuring stick. I watch that site a lot, and many vehicles sell for what I would describe as a premium price point.

I will also tell you that the collector car market has softened.

Not a landcruiser comment per se, more in general.

I was able to drive the road on Monday. Working three pedals took a little learning on the gap but was able to get up no problem on my second attempt. Never done any off-road 4x4 driving before so it was pretty exciting. We were supposed to camp at Tally but river level temps were 110-ish and we were able to retreat to a group camp site in the Chisos. I don't know how well the sprinter RV vans would've done on the river road so we didn't go for any camp sites deeper than Gravel Pit. Old Maverick was beating and rattling them to death and the River Road is less well maintained. Next time I go back I'd like to camp at Glenn Springs. I was really surprised by the amount of standing water in the road once we descended the switch backs down the start of Black Gap Rd. I bet you can see a lot of wildlife there.

Looks like a great trip, glad you enjoyed it.

New trucks are here.

T4R is here too, I'll grab a pic in a sec.

Will the first new edition LCs go crazy on the used car market since supply not meeting demand? First editions in particular?

New 6th generation T4R is pretty sweet…

Which one are you liking the best? Seems like there is a lot of overlap between the three SUV models.

That white Land Cruiser ain't doing nothing for me. Looks like a fleet vehicle.

But if they triple lock it…

These new Toyotas do nothing for me.

Turbo charged 4 bangers, many made in Mexico, only improve the MPG one or two. Worthless.

Sequoia has a turbo 6 hybrid, and the batteries might last you 10 years. 10 years will go by fast, and your car will be worth scrap once the battery dies.

Give me the old naturally aspirated V8's and V6's, simplicity, fewer creature comforts and nanny safeties that will only break. But it gives them a reason to raise prices.

I was!

I agree that there seems to be a lot of overlap at face value, but still enough differences to keep them separate for now.

Sequoia is much, much bigger than the T4R or LC.

LC is much more expensive than the T4R, but I haven't broken down exactly how/why it justifies the cost. I'll agree that aesthetically it's... bland. I guess we'll see how that improves once the aftermarket catches up.

We rented a Landcruiser Prado with a diesel engine this weekend to get the family up to a rented cabin in the mountains. I could never afford one, but I really like it. That diesel was really nice. Lot's of fast acceleration, which is huge given the traffic conditions. I've driven 90's era Land Cruisers with diesels and liked them as well. We're in Costa Rica. Lot's of diesel powered vehicles down here not available back in the States. All the Japanese and European brands have diesel pickups and suvs. There are also lot's of Chinese electric cars down here.
