This picture of my great grandfather (who I never met) Clayton Lewis has been hanging in my office for years. It dawned on me the other day that I have no idea where he was stationed or what he did in the war. I don't even know his rank. Any idea how to do some detective work and learn about him? Sure would be awesome to hear more about his story. My father was born in Texas but I believe Clayton was living in Michigan during this time period.


Here he is with my grandfather when they owned a Ford dealership in Marshall in the 1950's

I can do an ancestry.com search. Would be helpful to have full name with middle, birthdates, locations of birth (city if you have it). Ancestry can pull in a lot of those military records as well. If he's alive, don't share all that info on a public site, but if he's dead, that shouldn't expose anyone in the family to identity theft.
