The Skaldic Bard (Wm Blake, I believe) has done a number of these type songs,
including The Palastinalied.
Back in high school, I had to memorize "The Prologue to the Canterbury Tales"
in the original Middle English, but this Old English stuff is even harder to understand.
Fortunately, there is a translation on every page of this
interesting recreation of the events around The Battle of Eddington.
