In my opinion, and that's all it is, this coaching staff should call a team meeting and put the word out that the next run in with any police anywhere will result in dismissal from the team (I'm not talking traffic tickets here and will allow the HC judgement on a case by case basis). The law must be laid down and control must be re-established. The type of behavior and actions we have seen from several of these players shows disrespect to the Coaches, their Teammates, and the School itself.
I know Sumlin has said that programs are in place to cover this and other issues, but clearly the word has not gotten thru to some of these guys. Fortunately, the majority of the team have enough IQ to judge the situations and use their better sense to avoid being arrested.

Everyone knows the CSPD have nothing better to do than look for this kind of sh*t. Are our players not informed that the CSPD is looking for this kind of stuff? How many arrests is it going take for the seniors to take control of the underclassmen? Our athletes cannot continue to be this ignorant.

It sounds like CSPD did him a favor. Seals-Jones was about to start a fight after a night of underage drinking. Assault would have been a much more serious charge.

Given the amount of arrests over the last two years you've got to put this on Sumlin's feet and not the cops.
Cops may have little man syndrome, but they absolutely do not arrest everyone at NG. Meaning, these players are being more stupid than the crowd at NG.

If amendments had limitations, they would be worded in the Constitution. The Constitution is a document of negative liberties. It tells the government what they cant do to you, not what you are allowed to do.
The thing is your exercise of those rights can't infringe upon others.
You have the right to free speech, but you can't yell "Fire!" In a crowded theater.
You can, but there is a chance hou will be criminally liable for the results of your actions if somebody were to get hurt. The actual act of yelling "fire" is not itself crimknal.
Just like what Jones did was not an arrest worty act. The cop could have handled it like an adult, but odds are that because he is CSPD, he is a childish ******* that is exacting his revenge for being picked on in life now that he has a gun and a badge.

I think this is awesome -- exactly what we want. This off-season is setting us up nicely to resemble the Miami Hurricane teams of the 80's. And they won 4 NC, including '91.
