US is about to close out Barbados. 2-0 with 8 minutes left but it should be six or seven, so many chances.
Meantime, there was this for the second goal:

Edit 3-0 in the 86th.
4-0 now, 89th.
5-0 in the 93rd

They played pretty well. Controlled the majority of the game and had a ton of chances. Let their foot off the gas in the second half and started looking out for themselves up front. Also a ton of subs.

T&T scored a worldie off a half-volley from a bad defensive turnover.

Really impressed with how technical this team plays. Lots of one touch passes pinged and settled comfortably.

Anyone not watching this USs Guatemala match is missing something completely crazy.
Full concacaf, 6 goals in the first 53 minutes, winner got to the U17 WC. Match is in GC.

Going back and forth between this and Aggie hoops was almost too much for my old heart.

Figueroa scored with the last kick of the game. Won 2-0 and on to the championship.

Lost to Mexico 3-1 in the final.
Mexico got two goals on PKs, both from yellows on our keeper who tackled guys in one on one. One of our defenders had to defend the second kick.

Fun list… though I do think it's misleading to put guys there who haven't made a senior appearance in Europe yet. Caden Clark is one for sure; maybe there's others.

It is good news that Clark is finally in Leipzig, and even better news that he has sat the bench in their last two Bundesliga matches, so it's just a matter of time, I think.

Six on that list make the WC roster that made it out of the grouop with 3 starters and 2 others getting minutes. That alone is pretty incredible.

What's more incredible is the amount of depth in the pipeline which is key to becoming competitive with the soccer powers.

This USYNT has a heavy hispanic makeup which is good for the dual national battles.

I still think its a less than 5% chance he plays for the USMNT. Would absolutely love to have him but everything has always pointed to the order of the list being England>Nigeria>USA.

Football Manager lists him as USMNT and they know everything.

Arsenal loan star Folarin Balogun would be CRAZY to choose USMNT over England right now

Come on, Folarin, do it.

FIFA just pulled the U-20 World Cup from Indonesia, currently trying to find a new host.
That world cup starts May 20th... crazy

Why?

Wow...a Muslim dominate country opposed to a Jewish dominate country participating.

WTF is wrong with the world??

US could hold it no issues. Hell, DFW has enough fields to host easily.

On one hand I get the desire to punish nations you view as being opposed to your national values (there's a lot of crappy governments out there), but when you agree to host a tourney, you pretty much have to get on board with hosting any nation that's considered worthy by FIFA or lose the right to host.

I agree, but also - FIFA kinda set themselves up for sentiment like this with the Russia ban. They singled out one bad actor… and one that Europeans were overwhelmingly interested in punishing. So from an outside perspective, FIFA is willing to punish when it's convenient for Europe, and isn't when it's not.

This was my original reaction, but after thinking about it....

Is it so different than what the rest of FIFA is doing by not allowing Russia?

From a certain point of view, it's not.
