Which of the emirates don't have a team?
If you say you hate the state of politics in this nation and you don't get involved in it, you obviously don't hate the state of politics in this nation.

I really liked him as a manager over the years but damn that team was so bipolar.

I hope he lands somewhere else soon!

I liked him at Leipzig.

Worst case, he'll be back in the Bundesliga.

In terms of sovereign wealth funds, the biggest ones that might benefit from some sportswashing are in Kuwait and Singapore.

There are still 5 emirates that don't own a team....just saying. I think it makes more sense for them to buy a smaller team aka Leicester, West Ham, Palace or a Championship type team (Newcastle was 300-350MM pounds) and pump money into it rather than paying 4.5B to buy at the top of the market. At least, that's what they've all done beforehand.

Supposedly Qatar made an inquiry in June. At the end of the day it'll probably be an American consortium.

I hear there is a Moldovan "oligarch" who is looking for a new "team" to "invest" in.

Leeds United States is on the verge of reality. Think their first signing will be Jimmy G?

Yeah but the scary part is that Superman will be the most rested player in the league after a 6 week vacation.

The last 10 minutes of the Newcastle game was great. None of the ticky tacky crap calls. They were full-blooded challenges, and St James' was going wild.

Ref actually did a pretty good job all day letting them play.

Which lead to an almost fight at the end. Not sure he had the best command of the game at the end.

He missed some calls there at the end for sure. But the ending of the game was lively. Teams going at it full blooded, fans delirious in excitement and then the tipping point at the end. Good entertaining stuff

Agreed. But it wasn't because the referee did a good job.

He let Newcastle commit a few red card worthy tackles in the last 10 minutes or so

Hey now! Granted I've only been a fan for half a decade or so.

We suck. We just have nothing going for us right now. Constant changing lineup, no cohesion, no fire, no finishing. Ugh! It's hard to see how we are going to turn it around this year.

It's wild out there… tons of parody quotes already. I'll stop - but this is a great start to the non-football week.

Edit… Last one. Promise. I initially thought this was a fake, but apparently not. I'm not going to say he's an unprofessional clown, which is true, but…

Cristiano not coming to MLS after that statement. 2 to 1 odds that Rooney would walk right up and knock him out first time DC played Miami.

I would pay very good money to witness that by the way.
