Ugh, I hope not. We crap the bed against promoted teams.

PL schedule comes out tomorrow. Who wants to bet me we get a newly promoted side? Like Luton Town

Hell, I bet we have to play them TWICE this season.

Tough opening game. Chelsea is surely to make lots of changes this transfer window, plus the "new manager" bump. It should be an interesting start to the season!

Yeah I was hoping for a bottom feeder but oh well. Should make it fun on the board running up to the game though!

Another note, you can follow that link and subscribe to a fixture calendar, FYI.

I prefer painstakingly adding then to my work calendar with cryptic names for weekday games. Ie "Negotiation - John Terry"

I'm torn on a prediction. My head says 0-0 bc it's Chelsea. But my heart says 1-0 with Salah scoring the winner since he's scored in like 6 opening day matches in a row.

I'm assuming they'll be a mess until they prove us otherwise. I do think Poch is a good coach though so we will see.

I pretty much expect us to tie Chelsea every time we play hahaha

I assume all of the Mo to PSG rumors are just click bait? Read one that indicated he and his agent met with Mr. PSG in Morocco.

Saw a link today of Tyler Adams to Liverpool. Doesn't seem to be the right fit and frankly I don't want that for either of them.

Mo is rumored to be on the move to Real or PSG or Bayern like every summer.

Looks like maybe were going to get Szoboszlai?

And in peak internet comment section, I saw a City fan in the Athletic comments complaining that the Board at City is embarrassing because they couldn't get him signed.

Glad to hear it's a loan. Exciting player but he needs minutes.

I read a report that Thiago is possibly being targeted by Galatasaray and Barcelona. Who knows if it's the truth but I really don't understand why Liverpool wouldn't want to sellโ€ฆhe's under contract until next summer.

Why don't we ever sell players?!?!?
ChipFTAC01

Man I love watching Thiago when he's cooking but if we could get more than a bag of balls for him I'd be happy. I can't see him getting more than a 500 minutes this year.

Thiago has been linked to some interest from Saudi clubs too but as of yesterday no one has made the club any offers.

If a reasonable offer comes through, I say sell him.

Apparently Stevie G's club is interested in either Hendo or Abaumayang (I know that's not spelled correctly).

And I've read both that we've agreed to terms with Thurram and that's we've ended our interest in him.

Boooooo

YNWA.2013

Our current selection of midfielders (with ages):
- Fabinho (29)
- Thiago (32)
- Szoboszlai (22)
- Alexis (24)
- Henderson (33)
- Jones (22)
- Harvey Elliott (20)
- Bajcetic (18)

With the latter three still very young and in varying stages of development, I don't see how we can sell either Thiago or Hendo. We need Henderson for Home Grown numbers and I think Thiago would benefit from not being relied on week in, week out at this stage in his career. It will suck to lose him for nothing but Liverpool have made a nasty habit of letting our players' contracts run out and walking away for free, so what is one more at this point? Rumor is that we are content with this crop of midfielders for this upcoming season and the only way we sign another midfielder is if one leaves. If we are able to sell Thiago (and maybe Nat Phillips) to raise funds for a Gravenberch, Thuram, Gabri Veiga, or Barella, etc then I say it's worth it. Otherwise, if we offload him and don't bring in a replacement, we are an injury or two away from being desperate (a la 2020-21 season when all our CBs died).
