But, even still, isn't the rule to always run the guy back to the previous base and make the out there. That way, you know, if there's another bad throw and/or missed tag (like we also did) he wouldn't score?

Yes but they had a better chance at 2nd with him as far off the bag as he was. Diaz was ready though and moved back into position to make a play if needed. Minus the over throw it was pretty well done to catch at least one of them before a run would score.

You can see on the throw by Pressley he intentionally throws over the fielders head to Pena behind him to bait the runner into going home. That's smart baseball.

You are giving Press way too much credit. He airmailed that toss.

Sidenote dad moment.

My son turns 10 soon and this is his first year without a party all he keeps mentioning is wanting a new glove.

I've been telling him no for weeks saying he has a glove and it's a good one…well I found myself in the glove aisle today and gave in I couldn't come up with anything better to get so why not just go ahead and get what he asks for.
