I swear Raymond and Valle are trying to do an announcer jinx against the Rangers tonight.
"This guy's 0.083 on the road"
"When you are 0 for your last 23 you feel really bad"
"Gray only has 3 strikeouts, but no walks!"

Ballgame!
Good to see the offense come alive, scoring in 5 different innings and creating runs in different ways.

The issue for Winn is that i just don't know if there's a spot for him on this roster when Bradford and Scherzer get back. Winn is one of the few who can be optioned without going through waivers. I'd also like to see Winn pitch in a few closer games, one way or the other. He's pretty much been the guy who comes in when we are up big or down big.
The good news for him is that there are injuries galore all the time, which might give him a nice run with the squad. I also think we'll have to make some major moves sooner rather than later when it comes to the staff, with Heaney moving to the pen being the first big one I foresee. Adding another lefty to the pen would be big.
This also speaks to a bigger issue as well, which is that the Rangers have loaded up on pitchers, but we also REALLY need to see what we have with some minor leaguers like Cole Winn.

I admit to being a big Josh smith hater last year, but this year I'm actually sad or disappointed whenever he's not in the lineup.
He's playing so well.

At this point you can't take him off the big league roster, he's pitching way to well. He does need to start receiving more high leverage situations though. I almost think Heaney needs to be traded.

Couldn't argue with Heaney. It's a bridge I think they are going to have to cross sooner than later.
I will add that I want Cole Winn to stay up and with the big club, I just wonder if there's a spot for him as we get more healthy. We all know that Yates, Robertson, Leclerc, Sboz and probably Urena are not going anywhere. Out of that group Urena would be the guy to have the conversation about, but he's pitched more than anyone else in the pen this year and been very solid. Then you have Latz, Hernandez, and Winn. Hernandez is out of options and Latz is your ONLY lefty, thus leaving Winn as the odd man out at the moment.

Today just feels like one of those days where a win would huge.
We are throwing Heaney. Astros are throwing Verlander in their game. We don't want to snap our winning streak and a win today guarantees a series win too.

Winn, Urena, Sborz, Robertson, Hernandez, Latz and Heaney with Yates closing seems like a pretty good playoff pen! Yes know I left someone off!! lol

Once Jung comes back, I'm wondering what they will do with Smith. His bat has been awesome so far.

DH or LF? With the way he's playing I just don't see how you can take him out of the lineup

I bet he stays in the lineup at least 4 days out of the week. He can spell everyone just about everywhere except C, 1st, RF, and maybe CF. Lots of chances to give our starters regular rest.
