Let's prey that gets Seager going. This line up is deadly when he's hot, Jekyll and Hyde when he's cold.

What a difference a year makes with this bullpen. Heckuva job by CY to go bargain shopping and finding back end guys that have been nails.

Would have been nice to make them pay for loading the bases. Here's hoping we make quick work in the bottom of the 9th

That went from "ah **** here we go" to "oh game over" in about a hundredth of a second.

As long as this team can hang around a bit they'll be fine. I'm curious to what moves they'll make later in the season to finish out the roster for another run

Injuries galore, Seager ice cold and somehow this team is sitting in first place

They just said it may be Urena tomorrow, but no official word yet. So not sure that the above is accurate.

Hard to know at this point. The bullpen has been a strength and we've had too many injuries to really judge the rotation and line up. I still think the biggest moves will be just getting guys back healthy (Eovaldi, Bradford, Scherzer, Mahle, deGrom, Jung, Langford).

Watching this Bochy post-game interview, waiting for a possum to fall out of the ceiling tiles.

Two wins in a row that would not have happened last year. That was absolutely horrible baseball until it is wonderful baseball.
And I just don't see much needed in the form of outside help for this team. They need to get healthy. They'll add more to this roster from guys coming off the IL than they will through deadline trades.

Wish they gave weekly injury updates on all these guys. Seems like we don't get enough news about something that is literally the biggest story of our season and will determine how far we will go.gigem1223 said:

I agree on the rotation and bullpen, which has actually been the strength of the team to this point. There's simply too many guys out that project to start or get significant innings. I still fully believe it would behoove us to be in on a bat, but I won't beat a dead horse.gigem1223 said:

Waking up and reading through the game thread was a fun rollercoaster. Back at it this afternoon!

Same here. Went to bed early and enjoyed reading the thread this morning.
But good grief Raymond. Learn to read the ball or read the outfielders. https://www.espn.com/video/clip/_/id/40098264

When they initially showed the outfield cam I thought the guy right fielder was tracking it down, but then it just kept going. He hammered it for sure, but I'm surprise it didn't get caught in that Oakland air.
I'm really hoping that HR in that context lifted some kind of weight off his shoulders, and in turn lights a fire under everyone else

The call itself wasn't bad, just significantly delayed. He's saying the ball is carrying well as it flies over the outfield wall. It's already bounced on the concourse and back into play by the time he yells "gone!". (And then halfway implies that he's not 100% sure it's a homerun saying "he appears in the 8th inning to have hit a go ahead homerun").
Yeah, yeah I'm overly critical... but I just don't get how guys at this level can be so bad at one of the key aspects of their job.
