He hurt his ankle near the end of Spring Training. At that point he was raking it and looked to be the everyday starter in CF and a middle lineup guy this year.
I think they've been spot starting him early until the ankle gets back to full health.
I am proud to say that I caught Ruggianos first ever college homerun. Caught it at Minute Maid at the classic.that year. Later in the game I found his parents and gave them the ball.
Thinking of the many Aggie greats through the years, perhaps the best indicator of big league potential is the display of opposite field gap power. Knoblauch and ruggiano come to mind...which reminds me of a nice afternoon at Reckling when I was a young man...
